Rep. Pete King Mowed Over Chris Matthews (VIDEO)

Click photo below to watch the debate:

On Hardball [Only if You’re a Republican] tonight Chris Matthews discussed “no bid” contracts with Rep. Pete King (R) and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D). When questioned about Chertoff and the President taking Katrina seriously, King doesn’t take any crap from Chris:

KING: As far as President Bush, it’s wrong for you to say he wasn’t caring, he certainly was caring. What he was not equipped for was to explain for the incompetency of the local officials or to explain the hysteria… to anticipate the hysteria of people like you in the media who go off the deep end. Let’s treat this with a little bit of rationality and a little bit of decency.

MATTHEWS: The fact is that most people trust the media on this story because the pictures of what was happening down there in New Orleans apparently got to them before they heard of any federal action.

KING: Chris you are totally distorting reality, and that’s the problem with you. You’re distorting reality. You’re on this story, you and MSNBC got carried away with this. You should all be ashamed of yourself. You’ve disgraced yourself and the media.

Can I get an Amen?

Chrissy seemed obsessed with Haliburton. Get a damn hammer and do some work yourself if you're so concerned, fat boy.

Finally a real adult male speaking, where have they all gone?

This constant drama and hysteria by government and media is sickening.

You should have seen Sissy swing a hammer later in the show. He held it up by the head and did little 2 inch taps. The nail didn't budge. Then perky Katie was on with him and she actually held it properly and slammed the nail straight in, in just a few whacks without a single miss. He's such a girlie man.

He really took little Crissy to the wood shed. He's the biggest crybaby alive. :o)

Zell Miller took Matthews to the woodshed, too.

Matthews was struck dumb for all of five minutes, then he and MSNBC made a promo out of the clip to reverse the truth of what really happened.

Look for them to do the same with King.

He who gets to cut and paste . . .

I read somewhere else on the net he said earlier on the show, "Chris, Just because President Bush doesn't watch your show does not mean he is not doing his job! "

Peter King was one of the only GOP members of Congress to vote against the articles of impeachment drawn up against Bill Clinton in 1998. As far as I'm concerned, a pile of dog vomit in the gutter has more relevance than anything he has to say.

What's HE doing for the next 10 years?

I wouldn't mind have a King as President. At least he's able to articulate reality, without fear.

I simply think we are glad that someone is showing a little backbone. We need more of it. Less of bowing to the media.

Amen. He also voted for a minimum wage increase and said that Republicans in 1996 were turning themselves into "a party of barefoot hillbillies who go to revival meetings."

At least he's figured out who the real enemy is since then.

It's been 8 years (4 terms), the man can change .. he's a man with an opinion and he knows what he's talking about.

MATTHEWS: The fact is that most people trust the media on this story

UGHH!!! Two things I cannot stand. 1. People who say "The fact is..." - this really means "My opinion is.."

2. People who don't have the courage to speak for themselves and hide behind weasel words like "most people".
