That would be "allahu akbar!" or "God is Great" in Arabic...
Does Holiday Inn have that many Muslim customers?

I was watching The Factor but I didn't see it. Why would a Holiday Inn commercial mention religion?
To: VastRWCon
Are you sure it wasn't the Ramada Inn?

Holiday Inn is a franchise operation and may have a large muslim ownership of franchises. Just a guess, but this may be a token nod to that segment of their franchisees. A key.

On the holiday inn website they have all their current commercials.
One with akbar is not among them....

Holiday Inn uses ACKBAR instead of GOD Boy, is Jeff going to be hissy when he finds out.

Maybe it is because Holiday Inns are in dozens of countries around the world. Could be that a Muslim owns that particular holiday Inn, in , say, Libya.

If it was a muslim doing the commercial then that would make sense. Not a big deal imho.

I recorded The Factor tonight and just saw the commercial. A man jumps out of the shower; in the next scene, he's in some sort of setting (maybe archaeological ruins in Egypt?) where he and other tourists are viewing some type of hieroglyphics. He interprets them as "Beware the curse of Akbar(sp?)".
He then gets zapped into a press conference, and then into a lab, where it is thought that he's a professor. But he says he isn't, and, of course "but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night".

That's strange... Most hotels and motels are owned and operated by East Indians.

Soon we'll be seeing Korans in the night stand drawers of all motels.
