Over the Weekend President George W Bush concluded a 3 day visit to various Command Centres relating to Hurricane Katrina and Rita returning to the White House Sunday afternoon.

Vice President Dick Cheney was admitted to the hospital for the elective surgery on his knees. It was announced after doing both knees (originally only one was to be done but surgery went so smoothly it was decided to do the other) that he might be in hopital for up to 48 hours, in fact he was only in for 27 hours and walked without any assistance to his limo early Sunday morning.

Today President Bush attended briefings with Interior Secretary Gale Norton and Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman and also delivers a Statement at the Department of Energy in Washington

Today it was expected that the Vice President would continue his recovery from his Saturday's surgery by working from home.

Today Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had private meetings at the State Department with East Timor Prime Minister Mari Bin Amude Alkatiri, Malaysia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar and Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs Celso Amorim

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

The last one was saying he should be more like Reagan.

It didn't even make sense, because she gave Reagan credit for picking good SC judges (when he picked O'Connor), didn't give GHWB credit for Clarence Thomas, and trashed GWB for Roberts again.

BAD column, Ann. BAD.

I tell ya OWF, I don't understand her objections to Roberts!

Coulter has raved about Mark Levin's knowledge of Supreme Court possible nominees and Mark is 100% behind John Roberts.

If that wasn't enough... Robert Bork totally supports John Roberts for the SCOTUS .... MJY <----- scratching his head

I'm not sure what's up with Ann, but I think her hanging around with Bill Maher and her Arab friends has clouded her judgment

Yah....The Bill Maher friendship is weird. I think she should hang out with Mark Levine (course his wife probably wouldn't agree).

I used to drink Schweppes or Canada Dry when I was a kid but actually I prefer dry ginger as that does not have so many bubble.

Have to admit though ginger wine is a special favourite of mine whether it be with whiskey on just on its own.

I'll go with Levin and Bork over Coulter any day.

She's great, but she's dwarved by those two conservative minds, and if Roberts is OK with them, I don't CARE what Ann thinks.

Okay, I wrote my note and addressed and stamped the envelop.

When the sprinklers turn off, I'll take it to the mailbox.

WE SHOULD ALSO CONTACT PETE KING (R-NY) AND THANK HIM FOR THE FOLLOWING:

Monday, September 26
Rep. Peter King to MSNBC's Chris Matthews: Just because the president doesn't watch you on television, it doesn't mean he's not doing his job.

The New York Congressman did a double appearance on Hardball this afternoon. The first time, he pretaped an appearance with Mississippi Democrat Bennie Thompson, and it ended with King landing a right cross to Matthews. Matthews started his show today ringing the Halliburton 4-alarm bell. He is floored that Halliburton is getting contracts in relief work, and still is working under the illusion that non-kooks know anything at all about Halliburton. Here's the first round of a 4 round fight:

Read the whole exchange (and view MP3 files) at

You can contact Pete King at

OK, now I'm really going to bed!

What was Ann after him about other than Roberts. Surely she didn't jump on the "federal response" bandwagon?

hope you fell better soon. :)

Canada Dry is good, but this Vernor's stuff (only available in part of the US), is one of a kind.

It's hard to describe, but it has much more kick that most Ginger Ale, and has a flavor all its own.

We've got friends in Minnesota (where you can't buy it most places), and we bring some up to them when we drive there. It's GOOD.

Here late tonight and catching up. Lovely Dose tonight, snugs. Your hard work is very much appreciated.

Is it possible that on top of all of Bush's other responsibilities and headaches from the media, that he might be a little worried about his friend Cheney as well. Just a thought that had occurred to me.

Pedialyte is a rehydration fluid for infants and children and available in most grocery stores.

It also works for adults.

I used some I'd left for my Mom once when I was sick visiting Mom a few weeks ago.

Me, I prefer to curl up with a pot rather than trying to make it to the "Porcelain Honda" ...giggle...

You may well be right that possibly a few times over the weekend when we have seen him looking a bit pensive that he was wondering how the VP was getting on at the hospital.

Must be a great relief that he was discharged on time or even early and is back working albeit probably at home for a few days.
