Those house rains are very dangerous -- yard rains are much better.

The operations continue. The Iraqi, US Army, US Marine intel units continue to become more effecient, more effective, and their G3's more potent. If I was a real betting man and had the bucks to spare, I would venture in six months or less Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi will be captured or killed if he indeed does travel the dangerous roads of Iraq. And whether he is in Iraq or not, his organization will be so decimated that Izzat el-Douri and other Baathist leaders may just write him off as a memory. Assuming they are still walking the earth.

I think the answer is that the old, dead or captured aides are replaced by new, now dead or captured aides.

How many No. 2 aides does that make now?

Well, one less to worry about, so good news just the same.

There are now telemarketers bothering us at dinner time, asking if we're interested in the job.

It seems to me that being a Zarqawi aide is like being the guy in the red shirt on Star Trek.

Good! I would be happier if it was Zarqawi though.

The depressing thing about this story is right here:

U.S. and Iraqi authorities freed 500 detainees from the notorious Abu Ghraib prison on Monday in a goodwill gesture to Sunnis ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. After a brief ceremony outside the prison on the outskirts of Baghdad, the 500 freed detainees left the area on public buses. They were the first of 1,000 to be freed before Ramadan begins next week, the U.S. military said. Abu Ghraib gained international notoriety after U.S. military personnel running the prison were charged with humiliating and assaulting detainees there.
