Out There: Man-Made Hurricanes? Wednesday, September 21, 2005 Global warming? Act of God? Nope, says one Idaho weatherman — Hurricane Katrina was part of a man-made plot against America. Scott Stevens, a meteorologist who for nine years has been forecasting the weather on KPVI-TV (search) in Pocatello, says the Yakuza — the Japanese mafia — is using a Russian-made electromagnetic generator to launch terrific storms against the U.S. mainland. The devastation of New Orleans was in revenge for the U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Stevens explains on his Web site. He says it will soon be used again against another major American city. "A battle in the skies is waged daily. Some battles are won and others lost. We yet know not which," Stevens writes on the front page of his site. "For years this massive global project has been under way, but only now is it making it to the forefront of the consciousness of those with curious minds." Rumors have long circulated of a secret Soviet weather weapon, but Stevens told the Idaho Falls Post Register he became convinced it existed after noticing strange patterns in a Montana cold front in 2004.

Do you really think there are any reports available about such things? No, of course you don't.
My only objective here is to gain some insight as to what makes some react to the imminently plausible by quickly looking away and humming the "tinfoil" conspiracy song. If this phenomenon is not limited to emotional misfits then our republic is in dire trouble.

Do you think if HAARP were being used to control weather in the Gulf of Mexico that there would not be some type of tangible atmospheric evidence? After all we're taking about a nuclear bomb's worth of energy being directed and applied to a specific location close to the US.
Media hasn't noticed that this Bozo Stevens was briefly employed by a station in the Albany NY area; he was fired after they found out he'd lied about getting a degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma.
Guy is a total fraud.

Not mocking any beliefs, just wondering about the geneses of such, given the scientific knowledge of the day.

I have no idea, that is why I ask questions. Perhaps the fact that many radio operators complained that communications, in a huge radius around the area, was being jammed for an extended period of time is a clue.

This nut Scott Stevens was on Coast to Coast Friday night. George Noory interviewed him and he took some calls from listeners too. He would not say that he knew who did it or that anyone did but that there are some that know how and have created or steered hurricanes. He also reported that someone has been altering/filtering radar images for over a decade. He reports that he saw anomalies and reported them to others and once the govt found out they these guys were onto something the radar signals were edited. It was a great show for Coast to Coast. I love to listen to the nut-balls. Great comedy.
