Opponents of the war in Iraq marched Saturday in a clamorous day of protest, song and remembrance of the dead, some showing surprisingly diverse political views even as they spoke with one loud voice in wanting U.S. troops home.
The surging crowd, shouting "Bush out now" and "Peace now," marched in front of the White House and then to the Washington Monument in an 11-hour marathon of dissent.
They were young people with green hair, nuns whose anti-war activism dates to Vietnam, parents mourning their children in uniform lost in Iraq, and uncountable families motivated for the first time to protest.
President Bush himself was out of town, monitoring hurricane recovery efforts from Colorado and Texas. The protesters shouted for his impeachment.
"Bush Lied, Thousands Died," said one sign. "End the Occupation," said another.
Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey, noting that organizers had hoped to draw 100,000 people, said, "I think they probably did

The usual collection of Marxists, unwashed hippies, conspiracy theorists, and anti-American fifth columnists.
If that crowd numbered 100K, they counted it three times!
TRANSLATION: "They were all hate-spewing, conspiracy mongering, left-wing nutcases, but we in the MSM will be pretending they 'looked like America'."
It's the same old, same old. Green hair and Aging Commies.
I'll bet a good number of them have been turning out at demonstrations for the last forty years.
Some of us freepers don't even watch C-span, when they are showing the "enemy of Americans" on their station...
That Ramsey guy must have taken math classes in the public schools...
It's like P.T. Barnum said ..... a new sucker is born every day.
Why doesn't the MSM call it what it is? An ANSWER rally orchestrated by a bunch of jew-haters (plus a few confused hippies).
My own little review: I jogged all over the place today and saw most of the crowd milling about around the white house and wash monument. Been in town for some years and of all the anti war protests, this was the most diverse and peacefull group I've seen. Not all green hairs this time, but lots of mom and pops with their kids at this one. This was almost like a july 4th celebration on the Mall with many carrying the US flag. This protest has grabbed a wide range of folks this time.
A "bazaar of causes" eh? The MSM will subject themselves to muttering opaque analogies, senseless sentences, ANYTHING but clearly stating what ACTUALLY links the disparate groups in this coalition: Stalinist or Maoist totalitarian extremism and support for war-mongering, terroristic left-wing insurgencies and left-wing dictatorships world-wide.
For all of you liberal boobs complaining about the war in IRAQ..now hear this: These people signed up to go ..there is no draft and they volunteered to fight in the War on Terror.
Stop trying to emotionalize everything.
"Not all green hairs this time, but lots of mom and pops with their kids at this one. This was almost like a july 4th celebration on the Mall with many carrying the US flag."
So there were some seemingly normal people interspersed with the moonbats. Even normal people will slow down to stare at a wreck.
The thing to remember about these Al Qaeda Support Group rallies is that they would still be held EVEN IF THERE WAS NO WAR IN IRAQ. This is nothing but sore loser, DNC garbage being staged by their useful idiots. Its tough when you cant win elections. The DNC knows that they can throw a couple of "celebrities" into the mix at these Al Qaeda pep rallies and their useful idiots will stay happy and motivated.
More pictures!
An embaressment of Castro & Omar beards, male
ponytails, and long haired hippie creatures,
letting their *freak* flags fly....;oD
I had to ask myself "why"?
Somebody needs to buy these stuck in the 60's fools
a clue...Now that would be a program worth paying for.
HAH!
Nice picture! Their all assh**les. I for one am in Jacksonville, North Carolina as I type waiting to go to dinner with a bunch of Marines who arrived back to the States today!
"...nuns whose anti-war activism dates to Vietnam..."
Oh please! Is that supposed to give credibility to this cause? A few lesbians out of step with their country AND their church's teachings, have had nothing better to do for the last 40 years.
I,m glad that President Bush was out in Texas being Presidential and taking care of Hurricane Relief.
Although I did drop in to C-SPAN a couple of times, I watched a great Presidents Cup golf tournament, it's all tied up going into the final day. Tomorrow it's 12 against 12 for all the glory. [:>)
Much better viewing BTW.
