Today the President went to The headquarters of FEMA to be briefed on the relief efforts underway for Hurricane Rita , he also awarded Korean War era veteran Corporal Tibor "Ted" Rubin the Medal Of Honor for his bravery while in captivity at a Chinese POW camp, President Bush then headed for NORTHCOM headquarters to oversee the the coordination between Federal, State and Local officials as the Hurricane lands ashore

Wouldn't it be fun to watch Scott call a press conference and announce that since it makes no difference what the President does in the eyes of the reporters in the room, there will be no more pressers!

Mostly just windy and kind of scary. I am wanting to prepare for the worst and Phil wants to hope for the best so I am doing the worrying for two people.

At 2:00PM the NOAA 's National Weather Service Website put our county right in the path of the hurricane and we are to expect rain up to 12" and wind up to 70 MPH. I will let you know as tings progress as long as we have power and electricity.

the only thing that made me feel better about his state of mind was the incredible WINK he gave someone at the table during his press event today....he looked exhausted, somber, but he still has his charisma drawing us in.

Thanks for the Dose, Mike ........ though W doesn't do things for any need for public or media approval or avoidance of criticism, it's never easy to walk through the flames of disapproval and discontent .. especially with his tender heart. He's consistently true to his convictions, and may God bless him and give him the necessary strength, faith, fortitude and grace to walk this temporarily rocky path. This, too, shall pass.

OK went with dad to Bromley today. One of the patients at the hospital bought their dog with them; as this is not a clinical hospital but a therapy one they allowed her to bring the dog.

I've wondered why they have let him continue with air force one. His contempt for Bush is blatant. Clinton booted Brit Hume for simply asking a question, but of course if Bush did likewise the media would go into convulsions.
