WASHINGTON - As the anti-war movement arrives in Washington this weekend, many Democrats are leaving.
Nationally known Democratic war critics, including Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, Russell Feingold of Wisconsin and John Kerry of Massachusetts, won't attend what sponsors say will be a big anti-war rally Saturday in Washington.
**SNIP**
En route to Washington for the rally, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan protested outside Clinton's New York office. "She knows that the war is a lie, but she is waiting for the right time to say it," Sheehan said. "You say it or you are losing your job."
Spokesmen for the Democrats who are skipping the anti-war event all said they had schedule conflicts. But some leading anti-war activists aren't buying it.
"There are a lot of people here who are wondering, where are the Democrats?" said Tom Andrews, a former Democratic House member from Maine who's now the national director of Win Without War.
"The Democratic Party has an identity crisis on this issue. We need voices. We need leadership," Andrews said. "But fear is driving them."

Librarians cringe when they see me coming, LOL! Actually, that should have read bookmaking. Uhh, waitaminute, that might lead to jail as well.... ;-)
Seriously, serves me right for not previewing my post!
Something to keep in mind when watching the "anti-war" protest in DC this weekend (and when reading reports on it) ...
This weekend is also the National Book Fair. I was down on the Mall during Lunch today and the place is covered end-to-end with tents sporting placards like "Fiction", "Biography", "Non-Fiction", etc.
My guess is that the anti-war protestors and their media symps are going to try to inflate their "official" count by including people who are down there for the Book Fair. Just something to be aware of.
"Could be worth popping some popcorn"
Hey, yeah! Who'd ever dream of munching popcorn while watching C-SPAN? As in, `the unblinking eye of'. Remember what the unblinking eye did to the gays-do-D.C. orgy in 1993?
Anyway, what time Saturday does this leftie screech start?
....Sheehan said. "You say it or you are losing your job."......
She pronounced her own death sentence.
Any one want to guess how long before a plane crash or a bus wreck?

I'm extremely sceptical of media polls on a good day. These folks have their own internal polling I'd love to see instead.
But it does beg the question. What the hell is Hagel doing if even the Dems won't go out on the limb he has chosen?
It doesn't matter. Their interchangable, you know.
Just because they are leaving or in general?
Rats deserting a sinking ship.
Hurricane Moonbat is.
And be sure and tell them you are calling for the removal of the troops from NO.
D@mn good position for them leftist politicians shaking their box of rocks!
Accept it and get money or chastise the movement and go broke politically.
Yea, Dubya' with the help of Rove have been pretty ineffective haven't they? LoL!
I saw it on FoxNews, too.
is that something you do with a librarian ? ;)
It's reminds me of the end of Star Trek II, the Wrath of Kahn.
The Enterprise is creeping away from the pending explosion of the Genesis Wave, sure to be destroyed. Khan, played by Ricardo Montalban says "No Kirk, you can't get away, from Hell's Heart I stab at thee. With my last breath, I spit at thee."
Come to think of it, Cindy sort of looks like Khan, don't you all think?
Since most of the protesters seem to be close to retirement age, will they be burning their Social Security cards?
Me too.
No doubt about it. But even Fox News takes an occasional break for a weather update. (Aren't there some heavy rains in Wisconsin - or something?)
I just checked out your profile-the Klintons (or Billary, if you prefer) were the ones who turned me into a conservative. I have to confess...I did vote for the 'dynamic duo' the first time. Six months later, after they'd promoted smoker vs. anti-smoker, blacks vs. whites, young vs. old, well-off vs. poor,etc;etc......I knew I'd made the worst voting decision of my entire life. THEY started the deep divisions we have today-NOT Bush. And to make matters worse, the entire democRATic party sold out to them and marched with them in perfect lockstep. Voted almost straight Repub (voted for a few indys, as I never will vote for RHINOS Taft, DeWhine, or Rhinovich)in '04. Have ever since, other than those few exceptions. MANY Rhinos in Ohio-they control the party, so you have to be very careful here before you pull the lever.
