IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A University of Iowa law professor said the school is promoting homophobia and will challenge whether Iowa is violating NCAA rules by painting a visitors' locker room pink.

Erin Buzuvis moved to Iowa from Boston in the fall and discovered the visiting team's locker room at Kinnick Stadium was pink -- something she said promotes sexism and homophobia.
But officials with the school's sports department said they won't change the pink walls, which is a long-time facet in Kinnick Stadium.
The color was introduced decades ago by former Hawkeye coach Hayden Fry to soften opponents. But recent stadium renovations added more pink items to the locker room, including lockers, sinks and urinals.
Buzuvis plans to speak with a school committee compiling a report on Iowa's compliance with NCAA regulations.
The report is conducted every five years and does not yet address the pink locker room
Installing gerbils might cross the line...but pink should be fine. After all, Hitlery wears pink.
Nothing says feminine like a pink urinal.
I think Mz. Buzuvis should of stayed in Boston
Erin Buzuvis is in favor of carpet?
How come professors aren't fired for using the word, "homophobia?"
LOL - this must be the "fun Friday" post! Can't wait!
Where does the constitution give the courts the power to determine the proper color of a locker room? Are they interior decorators now?
If Erin is "she" then presumably the pink locker room was the woman's--err, womyn's locker room. This must be the sexist part.
If not, and the "homophobia" part is from seeing the men's locker room, what was she doing in the men's locker room?
Depending on her, umm, "orientation" it could mean either sexism OR homophobia.
Full Disclosure: Anyone remember the line from South Park?
"Children, she plays for the other team."
Pink is a nice color. How in the world is it homophobic?
How is this homophobic? More like girlie-men-ophobic. And the biggest girlie-men I know are all straight.
Michigan coach Bo (I won't even try) used to bring butcher paper to cover the walls in the locker room. Tough to cover the urinals now.
Maybe if they didn't keep score they wouldn't have self esteem problems with the losing team either.
A number of years ago someone conducted research that determined that there is a certain shade of pink that affects the brain and makes men less aggressive and violent. Prisons started to use it in attempt to cut down on violence. Putting it in the opposing teams locker room is probably an attempt to do the same to the opposing team.
Higher Education PING (emphasis on "high")
The pink paint was one thing. The drums of K-Y Jelly in the shower is unacceptable!
