A medieval bridge has emerged from the depths of the San Juan reservoir in
San Martin de Valdeiglesias, 70 kilometres (43 miles) outside Madrid,
as a result of dramatically low water levels, September 21, 2005.

Gee, I wonder how the water levels were so low back then that they had a bridge....yet now it's called global warming when the water level goes back to where it obviously used to be..

People walk over a medieval bridge that has emerged from the depths of the drought-
stricken San Juan reservoir in San Martin de Valdeiglesias, 70 km (43 miles) outside
Madrid, September 21, 2005. A severe drought in Spain, the worst since records
began in the 1940s, has sparked forest fires and drought-stricken reservoirs across
the country are at alarmingly low levels.

Kind of cool old bridge. Nice use of arches.
If you want on or off, say the word.

"Lower water levels reveal medieval bridge in Spanish reservoir"
--- Reservior = man made lake typically caused by putting a dam on a river. Reduce amount of water in reservoir, water level decreases. Happens in American made reservoirs too. Nothing to do with global warming, unless rain patterns have caused the original river to dry up.

just goes to prove that weather works in CYCLES.
While it is certainly true that weather works in cycles, this is at the bottom of a resevoir that is a lot lower than usual at this time. It was only underwater because of a man made damn downstream not because of a weather cycle.

How long would the bridges in New Orleans be viable if covered in water? Could they last 500 years, only to be uncovered and used again, even as foot bridges?
May stone bridges are a novel new 500 year old idea...
To: Ignatius J Reilly
Intereseting fact. I need that water to get real high up again before my theory hold solid... ;)

" Reservior = man made lake typically caused by putting a dam on a river. Reduce amount of water in reservoir, water level decreases. Happens in American made reservoirs too. If it's related to the weather the problem is always Bush's fault.

As society progressed, engineers began to see the advantages of building their bridges above the water. ROTFL!
