Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

It's Avila; what do you expect? :-)
No, I didn't, but I can't say I'm surprised.
As for the looters - no reports of successful looting, only attempted looting, quickly stopped. And only two reports of that so far.
It is 37,888 kb!
Y'all need a new color monitor!!!
Yep, they make'm in color now!
;<)

Yes, I think the storm is pulling together some. People should not underestimate her. Not sure she won't weaken again, but she won't go in a 1, doubtful a 2, and a three pushing all this water will be hard. She could go in a 4.
Nah - that's middle western Tennessee - northwest of Nashville. I'm in the eastern part of the state, near Knoxville. No rain from it - they're forecasting a chance of rain Sunday evening, but other than that, not a thing.
They're code 3 all the way to San Antonio already?
Good grief. A 40,000-foot summertime anvilhead is impressive enough, but 60,000 feet? Wow. I would love to see pictures, but you'd practically have to be in a U-2 to get them.

Did you see the video of them opening his garage and busting him? That was must see TV.
Don't mess with Texas!
I head on Rush this afternoon that Paula Zahn reported on her show last night...
that some NO police have been looting abandoned apartments and such lately....
Galveston oh Galveston I still hear your sea winds blowing
I still see her dark eyes glowing she was twenty one when I left Galveston
Galveston oh Galveston I still hear your sea waves crashing
While I watch the cannons flashing I clean my gun and dream of Galveston
I still see her standing by the water standing there looking out to the sea
And is she waiting there for me on the beach where we used to run
Galveston oh Galveston I am so afraid of dying before I dry the tears she's crying
Before I watch your sea birds flying in the sun at Galveston at Galveston

No, I can't do that. One of our guards got scared to death and ran off. I have to work 12 hours midnight to noon and sunday midnight to noon
You changed it!
Good point. Have you been thru this before? If not, and you need help, there are probably plenty on here who could advise. Is there a doctor in the house? : )
the ambulances rolled yesterday...its 30 something hours.
the fire crews were flown
I just need a bigger color monitor :-)
LOL!!!!!!!
