Noel refused to cooperate and made the police get a search warrant to search her apartment on July 1. That doesn't seem like a response of a distraught mother trying to do everything she can to find her daughter. Instead, it looks to me like someone trying to hide something. I never knew this! Wow, talk about a red flag!
I was just shocked to recently learn she had Evelyn cremated - I know people have different ideas about cremeation/burial - but if it was your little daughter murdered - why would you do that - especially if some evidence may be found out later etc.

This is one cold woman who I think has something to hide.
I suppose they had her cremated for many reasons but one might be that after being in river for days in that heat, and the autopsy there wasn't much left of her.(oh how sad). You are totally right that sometimes bodies are exhumed and more evidence found later. Lets just hope that when authorities released the body in the days FOLLOWING the funeral they had gathered all the info that they needed.
