They would not have reversed themselves without a decision at the top. Yesterday we were hearing that Rumsfeld was backing the refusal to testify. Bush must have intervened to produce this change of course, because they could have continued to hide behind the pretence that it would violate security rules. I certainly don't think Specter is responsible for this change.

It's long past time that Bush stopped defending clinton from his treasonous malfeasances. Bring it out in the open and let clinton explain it.

Apparently, Weldon thinks that Rummy may also have some things to hide. I was listening to him on Savages show a couple nights ago and he mentioned how one of Rummy's deputies (Steve Camone or something like that?) may have been told about AD back in March, 2001.

I heard (at different times) both Leaky and Specter ranting about their anger at the DoD blocking the testimony. Specter sounded very serious about investigating this Able Danger business. Leaky did, too. I have a feeling that some Clintonista generals were blocking this, and that Rummy (and Bush?) finally got involved in over-riding those who were protecting ....???

"Bush must have intervened to produce this change of course,"

you're absolutely correct.

"It's long past time that Bush stopped defending clinton from his treasonous malfeasances."

I continue to hope that Bush is not quite moronic enough to have been doing that. I believe rather that he was protecting his own administration against some damage. I'm quite certain, however, that the damage to the Bush administration will be very small compared to the damage to the Clintons.

Hey C,
Just think if the roles were reversed? Klintoon would have "W" in a Siberian Gulag.

I think the Clintoon stepped in it big time when he critisized W about our ongoing effort on terror. W had been being Mr NiceGuy where the Toon was concerned and got stabbed in the back.

Here's hoping W has seen the light and realized the pathetic Toon's have no intention of stopping their rhetoric aimed at undermining the President's efforts.

Yes.

Double Yes (although his willingness to persue this is somewhat redeeming of his past frequent transgressions.

It's long past time that Bush stopped defending clinton from his treasonous malfeasances. Bring it out in the open and let clinton explain it.

Absolutely Yes!
