They can call it the Department Of Peace,Light & Other Really Swell Stuff.
And its headquarters wouldn't be in DC,it would be in Bezerkley.
To: Burf
This reminds me an awfully lot of Orwell's 1984.
What's this senator's next department, the Ministry of Truth? Or perhaps he'd prefer:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
To: Burf
I officially speak for Minnesota, when I say that I am sorry.

Too bad he isnt running for reelection. I think the GOP would have an easier time beating this flake than they will a fresh Demo nominee.

I'm from MN and I wish he were running again - kicking his sorry @ss into outerspace would be a pleasure. The problem is that he - and his DFL party - know that he is a millstone. Whomever the RATs field this time is going to be solely chosen on the basis of being an effective stealth candidate since MN is purple and verging red.
To: TNCMAXQ
Have no fear, the DFL has plenty more like him. In fact you could make a good argument that the DFL is composed of nothing but moral midgets like little Marky.

Did you ever notice? Ever since the name of the "U. S. War Department" was changed to the "Department of Defense" the U.S. has not won a war.
Peace is not the ultimate goal. Freedom and personal liberty come first, then peace. Peace without the first two is worthless. The dead have peace.
To: Burf
We already have--and have always had--a "Peace" Department. It's called the "Department of State." Really. That's what it does.
Peace = Department of State
War = Department of Defense
Is that so complicated?
To: Burf
I also am in MN. I don't know how much longer I can hold on to what little sanity I have left!Trust me, it could be worse

Sigh.
Well, it's nice to know what's able to be accomplished on when our state business can't get done in extended session, let alone the normal one.

Yeah. Two things struck me that Dayton was not really with the program when he ran for Senate. His statement that the words guns and kids should not be used in the same sentence. I believe Hillary used the same sentence on her campaign. The other was one has to take into consideration the wisdom of a man spending $20 million to get a job that pays $175K a year. The people of MN in their infinite wisdom elected this man to the US Senate.

I believe you may be right. Amy Klobuchar will be a formidable opponent. All she has to do is win the Dem strongholds of the metro and the Iron Range and they hold the seat.
