Hmm, think I may have started something?
The town of Mettler was rattled today by a series of earthquakes just south of town.
The first quake at 1:24 p.m. was 4.0 and located three miles southwest of Mettler. Then about 30 seconds later a 4.9 quake hit about two miles southwest of Mettler, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Five minutes later, a 3.0 hit five miles southwest of Mettler.
Mettler is located 24 miles south of Bakersfield just north of the Highway 99 and Interstate 5 junction.
Lisa Harleston, swing supervisor for the Mettler Renegade Shell gas station and store, said, "We felt it really good. Some sodas fell down and cases got knocked over.
"It felt bubbly at first, but then it felt like someone grabbed you and shook. No one was hurt but we had a few casualties with our sodas."

Bad??? Moi???
I think it was at the top of the best seller lists. Maybe I can find it on Amazon or Ebay.
Got my attention here in Arvin CA.
There are no looters or looting...just undocumented consumers initiating indefinite, deferred payment plans.
Being right where an earthquake is centered is scary. A near 5.0 is pretty big if you are on it.
There are those that roll and those that just shake and jolt. The rolling ones are IMO better.
These are small. Ethiopia had a 5.0 and several smaller.
I'm with you. The one in Paso Robles a year or two ago was a rolling one and it was pretty fun for us down gere in Santa Ynez. It actually lasted long enough to enjoy it.
It the Bakersfield Caldera...
Not much on the Kern County scanner...
Not really, just Kalifornia would be, if it breaks off and sinks. Can Lefties swim?
The highest so far was 4.7. Thank you for the local info. Hope no one gets hurt or loses any property. FRegards....
It's not the people of California. They don't vote lefty. It's the 9th Circus.
Maybe you need one of those electronic boards - makes it easier to switch to the Sodom-and-Gomorrah of the week ;)
I live in California, but have no idea where Mettler is?? And I sure didn't feel anything. LOL
Naw. We've had plenty of quakes, and they've never equaled anything like these giant tornados are doing. Not even close.
Hey, good point! Where's my FEMA card!
LOL!
ROFL!!!
Well....playing TV Reporter here....how did it feel?
