I guess he'll have to steal more identities to pay off that $7 million.

"For the sake of my children, don't send me away. I'm pleading to you, don't send me away," he said. "I'm pleading and begging. This is the first thing I ever did wrong in 25 years in this country. Spare me, your honor, don't send me away." Oladapo's attorney told the court he had a clean record and was deep in debt. Yea, he was only convicted of helping steal $7 million.
He told the judge he came to the United States to further his education, but when both of his parents died, he had to take care of his siblings. He quit school and worked to provide for them, he said.
Boo-freaking-hoo. Play "Cry Me A River", Sam.

Kehinde Akintola Oladapo begged the court for leniency after his attorney described him as a "small cog in the wheel" and a "mouse in a big city." U.S. District Judge Marvin Garbis agreed with that description of Oladapo. "He's hardly the mastermind," he said. "Fact is, Mr. Oladapo was used."I'm guessing he was either unwilling or unable to provide the prosecutors with info that would have led them to the masterminds and broken the whole operation.

Kehinde Akintola Oladapo : Involved in an identity scheme that netted 7 million dollars.: A small cog in the wheel and a mouse in the big city; Yet he has to make restitution for the entire 7 million dollars pay his lawyer and spend 14 years in prison?
1. Is he an American ?
2. Does he have a green card?
3. How the hell does the Judge think this guy is going to find 7 million dollars in jail?
4. Where are the rest of his accomplices and since Oladapo is paying back the entire 7 million do they get away free?
To: sgtbono2002
1. The article says he is a naturalized American citizen.
2. Because he is a naturalized American citizen, he doesn't need a green card.
3. The restitution is routine and would be ordered without regard to whether there is any prospect he could pay it. He might some day win the lottery.
4. Your last question is a good one. I too would like to know what happened to the others involved in this scheme. I think it is likely that Oladapo has already given the prosecutors whatever information he had about others in the scheme.

For the sake of my children, don't send me away. I haven't finished training them in pickpocketing and other skills.

Hmm, identity theft. Last time I flew all that went missing was a pair of slacks and a skirt and my son's watch. But no identity theft. Looks like I was lucky.
To: JZelle
after his attorney described him as a "small cog in the wheel" Possibly true. The bigger criminals often entice or force others to do their dirty work. Let's hope they get the big guys behind this as well.
