Yesterday a woman from Houston said the same thing (on Sean Hannity). Her husband is a police officer who is going on duty Friday night. She was talking about Galveston or Beaumont, and said Child Protective Services had issued warnings to the effect that they would take charge of children not evacuated.

I heard the Matagorda officials say this. I called my friends down there...and they just laughed. Sounded like this was nothing new and just typical...They said 'don't sweat it, they're showing off again.' Who better than the locals to ask.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if those officials realized how stupid people can be? having seen it plenty of times before. Don't you just love those gossipy little towns?
