Asked hubby if he's comfortable with the number of firearms we have. He pointed out that we have 1 for each member of the family. I pointed out that each member of the family has 2 hands. :)

Hard to one hand a .308, but my wife mentioned something similar the other day.

Considering that my preferred weapon is the pistol, I can agree with that.

Firearms recommendations are like discussing religion or politics- a good way to get an endless argument going- but-- for what my 2 cents is worth?

I prefer each family member to have at least a sidearm ( because it can always be with you ) and a long arm, such as a shotgun, for close range, or a rifle for longer range.

And to be a further iconoclast, for people who aren't all that familiar with firearms, I prefer a revolver over automatics, because they are simpler to use and understand-- you point it, and make a fist.
