Extremely dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Rita continues to threaten the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The forecast track has shifted slightly to the northeast, increasing the risk to Southwest Louisiana, and a significant portion of the oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas Governor Perry is urging all coastal residents between Beaumont and Corpus Christi to evacuate as soon as possible.

Many models now have a loop in various locations inland, yes.
Stay safe friend. If you can't get out get up high enough to avoid the flooding.
I did a search on the History Channel's site to see if they were planning to run the terrific show they did based on that book (and it has the same name) this weekend but I guess they aren't.
"Long Night Ahead"
Yep. We picked up the yard, my husband finished weed-eating, we brough the reluctant cats into the garage. Got my deviled ham, pop tarts and water, generator gassed up, and we are ready to roll.
Dude, I'd take a 30 or 40 round carbine over a pistol or revolver.
The post I read said do not use propane inside. One can use propane inside. Millions of homes do. I would not melt roofing tar in my living room, but propane can safely be used inside.
You are being irresponsible if you post without understanding my posts.
Go re-read them.
I said safe application.
To you millions out there using propane keep using it. Nothing to see here.
GFS model now shows a Saturday morning hit (~ 7am EDT) slightly west of the TX-LA border. It then shows Rita moving inland about 60-80 miles and sitting there for the next 48 hours plus. That would be a horrible scenario for E Teaxs, but worse for W. Louisiana.
It's 7 o'clock already? No wonder it's getting dark.
Wayne is back on the air saying the Beaumont Police Dept is in the dark...saying ships with supplies are coming in?
Sounds like Beaumont is in trouble.
Yep, in the NW quad.
6. Never Store Propane Indoors
The slightest leak of propane indoors can cause a serious explosion. Store propane outside and away from heat. Always be sensitive to the slightest gas smell. If you smell propane, no matter how strong or weak the smell, treat it as a serious gas leak. From here"
Thanks for the learning adventure. I knew it killed, before now, I just didn't know why.
You are right. People aren't killed by the CO, and I'm right that one shouldn't use it in an enclosed area.
God bless all the people trying to stay safe in the path of this hurricane.
:-)
Eye will likely hit between Cameron La and Morgan City La.
Hhmmm...
I'm glad I got in on the list early because you are tough!
;-]
That is why your screen name is carbine rocks!!!
LOL!!!
and Blanco really didnt order an evacuation til today?
Not a problem. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
