I have three quarts of red beens and rice cooked. A large pot of cut up roast, carrots, potatoes, rice, and red bell pepper. Another roast is in the crock pot and a whole boneless chicken stuffed with etouffee is in the oven. The question is do I add chow chow to the chicken salad that already has chopped black olives, walnuts and celery knowing my son will not eat it if I do?

Can't answer that, but expect me for dinner!

You're going out on a limb, aren't you?

It ain't a prediction if you don't.

Once this one comes to pass, I am opening up my Lazamataz Psychic Workshop, where my main predictions will involve the client's sex lives.

They did find time to talk about FEMA mistakes in FL. It seems someone committed fraud. Imagine that, there are crooks in FL too. There is no such thing as doing something right in media world. The two clowns on Fox now are from their third team that work on weekends and need to be doing infomercials instead.

About the only certainty right now is that a direct NO hit is impossible.

You forgot your /wishful thinking tag. Three hours before Charlie was forcast to plow into Tampa/St. Pete, the storm turned and annihilated Punta Gorda. Then it headed for Orlando, where many from Tampa had evacuated to. We barely got any wind or rain.

A few miles of wobble in something this large this far away from land can mean hundreds of miles of difference in the actual landfall.

My sister thinks they ought to put some Mom's in charge of evacuations...bossy, strict Moms.

I was in school one morning, after a weekend of 707's landing all night, over us. It was monday, about 11am, when the school PA announced we were going home. Go to your bus, now.

Arriving at home, my mom had packed a suitcase for each of us. We loaded onto cattle cars around 2pm, and we left Gitmo, aboard the USNS Upshur, before dark. That was October 22, 1962. The families living on the Leeward side were air evac'ed, while most of the others left on the seaborn transport, or an old LST.

We arrived in Norfolk on a cold rainy day, in shorts, and t-shirts. We lived.

People who don't have any better sense than to trust in gum't, deserves what they get... Military wives ain't gum't. They know better than to ask. They do!

But didn't you hear... Nagin has the strip clubs on the quarter open today. Not kidding... for real.

Maybe that's why Rita wants to turn east.

What's your point?

Do you think North Carolina hasn't had it share of hurricanes?

We've yet to wait for the president OR FEMA to tell us what to do or pick up the pieces.

You're naming names there...20 miles from the FQ. I've had this feeling that NO might get hit again because last year it seemed like the Panhandle was the magnet and every storm just migrated there.

But seriously folks... yeah, I think later on in mankind's advancement, we will find out that there are actual physical forces causing hurricanes to be drawn to a given spot.

Believe it or not, that's what will happen. Some people will get in that traffic and realize they don't have enough gas, or can't get gas, aren't getting away fast enough, etc. and turn around and go home.

Knew a guy in Houma, LA that had that happen during Katrina.

Luckily, his property didn't get hit too hard, but he tried to evacuate and couldn't get anywhere so he went home.

RDTF,
It's semantics at this point, but I think the offending words were: "Besides the fact that Rita has moved eastward"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1489163/posts?page=1122#1122

So, take a breath, step back from the keyboard, put your head up so the boss knows you are at your cubicle... then shake hands with Double Tap and Carry On...

Listen newbie, I don't take orders from you. You posted incorrect information and I corrected you. Post information that Rita is moving eastward or STFU. You do know what eastward means, don't you?

Moderator: This abuse is ridiculous. I am contributing to this thread, this clown is causing trouble.
