Extremely dangerous Category 5 Hurricane Rita continues to threaten the Greater Houston Metropolitan area. The forecast track has shifted slightly to the northeast, increasing the risk to Southwest Louisiana, and a significant portion of the oil and gas operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Texas Governor Perry is urging all coastal residents between Beaumont and Corpus Christi to evacuate as soon as possible.

I understand all that, but Rita is not moving to the East.
Yeah. What does that have to do with Rita moving to the East?
To heck with that... keep the state treasury guarded!
Rita is still moving Northwest. If you have any data to back up this east movement I would like to see it.
I think the poster meant that since Rita is now moving less in the westward direction (as is clear with the sattelite images) then she is moving "more east". Think of it not as an absolute eastward direction but as a relative eastward direction. Hope that helps.
But, I haven't seen Nagin, lately...
CNN shifting track to TX/LA border.
LOL!
Most everyone else thought it was going closer to Houston or close by..
Looks like you're right....it's heading more Louisiana than Texas now.
Those levees are not going to hold.
It could finish off NOLA.
The cone has certainly shifted east.
LOL! Followed by, "now watch this!"
can you believe these polyanna's on kplc? jeez!!!!!!
That helps her party machine to have new voter cards made for the deceased.
I know right.
I think today may be his shock therapy day.
I'm sure glad that you know more than the meteorologist working with the governor who just announced the opposite at the press conference.
No time for semantics.
Sorry, just more important stuff happening right now.
Agreed.
Trust me, I know what is going on. I've been tracking it as has everyone else. We need to be correct in our terms or misjudgements can be made.
or Nagin is getting his "never get too high, never get too low" bottles refilled.
