"I just got off the phone with Bethy. She's doing okay. Please pray for her. It took her 2 hours to get to I-10. She's by herself because there are issues with the family. She's on her way to Baton Rouge by herself and she's extremely stressed. She's got a full tank of gas, money, and water."
She will be in my prayers as well. Totally exhausted here from last nights concert, got really bad news this morning.
My great-niece, Brooklyn, just turned a year old in August and was diagnosed last week with a hole near the atium of her heart resulting in high blood pressure and surgery not being an option until she turns 3 yrs old. This morning, I found out she is in the emergency room with strep-throat, so please be in prayer for her. To make matter worse, the grandfather of Brooklyn and husband of my sister, Sherry, got in the car at 5:00am to drive to, of all places, Houston! It seems his mother is refusing to evacuate so he is going down there to ride out Rita with her, and that house is very much in the danger zone! Needless to say, my sister is losing her mind on both fronts; her granddaughter being so ill and her husband being an utter fool!
My beloved David took the day off today not only to recover from the concert, but to get us prepared as well. He's at the store now stocking up on candles, non-perishable foods, etc, as our electricity comes from Carnes City, in Rita's path, and we are in an all electric home in the country. When he gets home, we'll finish putting up everything that may be damaged by high winds or tornadoes away. What a week, you know?
It looks now, the hurricane may be moving east. How much news can a person take. A very special prayer said, for your great-niece health.
Yeesh!! I can't believe anyone would WILLINGLY get into the path of a storm!!
Prayers up on ALL fronts.
Oh, my, Linda--your whole family is in my prayers! It's way too late to evacuate now unless you want to spend time on the freeway. It's like a giant parking lot!
Hope your electricity doesn't go off!
Prayers for your little niece!
(((hugs)))...for you!
Thanks, Linda, for checking in. Sending prayers for Brooklyn and your sister, as well as her husband and his Mom. Stay safe and check in when you can.
