You just will get rain out of this one.

Maybe. HEre in KS I know we will get a much-needed soaking.

But, those folks to the south may get hammered if it maintains this strength. It is hard to see it weakening below cat 3. The waters near the coast are extremely warm.

Amen. Fellow Coloradan. We get the occasional blizzard/snowstorm that may prevent us from getting to work a few days, but thats about it.

Thank god I live in Colorado.

If you guys drive cars in Colorado, then you'll feel it too.

Texas has 26 oil refineries and MSNBC is reporting that all the platforms in the Gulf are being shut down and evacuated. There will be another spike in oil prices at the very least and possibly shortages and empty gas stations- all over the nation.

The real story to keep an eye on here is oil production, not just local flooding and storm damage.
