My husband refuses to leave Sugar Land. We are 45 miles from the coast. Our son and his wife left for Abilene, and our daughter and her husband are headed for Canyon Lake. My husband wanted me to go with one of them but after 34 years I guess we will ride it out with our third son who did not want to leave. (He thinks it is exciting!)
My husband would leave if we were told to evacuate, but only parts of Houston have been told to evacuate and none of Fort Bend County is in the evacuation zone, although we are close.

I know that God holds our hand and we are in His mighty hands. I pray for Texas tonight and for the next several days and nights.

Holy Father,

Shield Your precious children from this impending storm and set their feet on solid, dry ground. Thank You for being their shelter and their strong tower. We pray that You will give TX and his family Your direction to safety and keep the babies calm and healthy. Hide them in the shadow of Your wings until these calamities pass by. Thank You, Father, that You will be with them and that You will deliver them. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

You needn't even ask, I have been praying all day for all in her path.

May the Lord place His shield of protection over everyone in her way. May he calm her winds and lessen her rains. May He also bless each and everyone's families as their lives are uprooted and give them peace and comfort that He will be there to guide you at all times. "I lift up mine eyes to the heavens, from whence cometh my strength. My strength cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth." Psalm 121 All things are possible through Him. Amen.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for our FReeper family and for the love and concern we have one for another through Christ our Lord. We gather before the Throne of Grace to acknowledge that You are Sovereign ... that You are All Power and Authority and Grace and Mercy. You send the lightning on its course ... you command the rain to fall ... you send the wind to strip the leaves from the trees ... your voice is heard in the thunder, yet all is quiet when you say, "Peace, be still."

For what it's worth, I stayed home from the library today, and will be praying all day for those in harm's way.
