Hope the mods don't mind.........

It's very relevant though. Stop the fearmongering.

Well .. I don't know .. maybe Bush sent Area 51 people up to Mars with the Rover and now that humans are on Mars - global warming was sure to follow. [/s]

There is global warming on Pluto.

I bet Mercury and Venus are warming up too.

The research adds weight to the views of David Bellamy, the conservationist. "Global warming - at least the modern nightmare version - is a myth," he said. "I am sure of it and so are a growing number of scientists. But what is really worrying is that the world's politicians and policy-makers are not.

"Instead, they have an unshakeable faith in what has, unfortunately, become one of the central credos of the environmental movement: humans burn fossil fuels, which release increased levels of carbon dioxide - the principal so-called greenhouse gas - into the atmosphere, causing the atmosphere to heat up. They say this is global warming: I say this is poppycock."

C'mon Mr. Bellamy, tell us how you really feel!

Um, does anyone have a real explanation for WHY the sun is doing this?

Yes, I have recently read about a bet between 2 Russian scientists and a UK scientist for $10k. The Russians say in 10 years the earth will be cooler due to reduced solar output. They say the solar output has been on the rise but should peak soon and start reducing substantially. Ice core samples taken from China that are 50,000 years old have tracked perfectly with tree ring data etc, indicating solar output as the main driving variable.....

The article was funny in that while reporting on the increased solar output, they tried to maintain a death grip on the greenhouse theory.

There has been also three times the normal skin cancers being reported the last few years.

Hearing this is the sun's fault has brought to the forefront the Democrats secret weapon Hillary, whose talent for being frigid is now seen as a plus.

If elected Hillary could (according to Democrats) cool down the sun and thereby reverse the global warming that is still Bush's and Haliburton's fault. :-)

Perhaps we are devoting too many resources to correcting human effects on the climate without being sure that we are the major contributor."

Ya think?

The fact that climates have been radically changing over long periods of time, without *any* input from humans, should be evidence to anyone but an intellectual that the sun is the major source of climate change.

I should remind these bozos that we never have adequately explained ice ages. The obvious blame goes to the sun and long term energy changes. Duh.

The fact that the sun changes at all, is evidence on its face that pre-historic climate changes such as ice ages were caused by the sun.

The sun has long term weather, the earth has long term climates. 2 + 2 = 4.

It's amazing that this should even be considered "news." I have been saying this same thing ever since leftists started the whole "global warming" nonsense in the '90s. 25 years ago, my college physics project involved correlating droughts on Earth to sunspot activity and showing how they went together in predictable cycles. Everyone who keeps up with astronomy at all knows that the Sun has been going through an extremely active, violent cycle recently that affects Earth's weather, and that it will settle down as soon as George W. Bush is no longer president. His departure will please the sun god Ra, star of crossword puzzles worldwide, then everything will be hunky-dory again.
