I see my neighbors raking leaves
Often wondering if their brains have seives
Falling leaves is just part of God's Circle of Life
Certainly not made for lower lumbar aches with rakes

Leave them be, for Heaven's sake
They're made to decompose and fill your life with strife
A russet carpet above the soil
Replenishes it naturally, without sweat and toil

Raked piles of leaves, like winter Snow Men
Are for children a seasonal omen
That always bring an innocent, beauteous smile
So let the kids have at it and make a pile
So you may savor the moment all the while!
