If we build the front up, no matter how slow, we can build a support base that can do some damage. We hope to grow to the point we can make some really good marches happen.
I didn't know the US Congress passed a law ordering the Anderson and Seneca city councils to mention Jesus in council prayers.
Absolutely nefarious these congresscritters.
"...ACLU wants three councils to change prayers..."
I want the aclu to pucker up and kiss my perpetual vertical smile. They'll know where that is. It looks like the image they see in the mirror.
Everyone picks on Christianity and gives other religions a pass.
Kind of makes you wonder if there isn't something to the Christian thing...why else would it be hated so much?
Me thinks they protesteth too much...
Just a thought..........how about we get the latest press release from CAIR, about how muslims are discriminated against, looked at wrong, hate speech, etc, etc., then change the wording from muslim to Christian and then file the same charges against the ACLU??
Just a thought.
Their name is really the ANTI-CHRISTIAN LITIGATION UNIT.

fizziwig, you a smart person! Follow your logic.
Put out an RFP (Request For Proposal) for any organization to get a non-monetary contract (maybe avoiding some EO laws since there's no money in it) to perform prayers. Local preachers will create such an organization and bid. Select them. The council is not giving the prayers, and anyone who wants to give prayers (say, a satanist) has to join the contracted organization, and will be refused.
By depending on state laws, I meant it won't work if the law says all contractors must do EO. But if the law says no state money will go to to anyone not doing EO, it may work.
"fizziwig, you a smart person! Follow your logic."
I already have....it was tongue and cheek....I am already a Christian.....one of those ones dragged into it kicking and screaming...
This is absurd. They're also suing the Speaker of the House, personally, for mentioning Jesus in prayer on the House floor.
There have been men and women of every faith who have given the opening prayer in both the House and the Senate. No one religion is excluded.
The ACLU needs to wake up and realize that they are in the heart of the Red States, and none of us are amused by this.
By the way Jay... nice to see some people our age coming around. Keep up the good fight. :)
"Do you get the idea that the ACLU is obsessed with its opposition to religion?"
I know, I just can't figure it out. Why do people keep thinking Democrats hate God? Hillary prays too, you know!
Even Howard Dean said they have to take back religion in the Democrat party.
The problem is, all those little people in the red states WILL keep watching what Dems do instead of what they say...
Whenever I see an ACLU attorney, they usually have disheveled hair, glasses and facial hair. And that's just the women! The men are worse. I'd love to see research done to see where some of these so-called attorneys graduated in their class. If they had any smarts, I'd bet they would be working in a major law firm or corporate law.
Just my opinion.
If you ask a minister to pray, then you are the one creating an established religion if you tell him what he is permitted to pray and not permitted to pray.
We have many denominations and religions in America. An adult realizes they are all different.
later pingout.
Let me see if I understand this. Atheists want to be able to tell religious people how to pray. Did I miss something?
how can you say it has gone "from" something rationally good when it's founders were communists attempting to promote communistic ideals?
