Please do heed Howlin's advice about the detector. We don't have a generator but I heeded the advice when we installed a woodstove.

Knock on wood it has never gone off (I do test it regularly) but I am happy knowing it is there.

Wonderful. A tropical storm when I got up to work this morning and now a Cat 3. How much more of this good news can I stand?

There is good news. It can't get any worse than a Cat 5.

I knew that it was low. I used to live in Kingwood - moved just before the flood in Oct '94.

We have the detectors in both rooms where the gas logs are connected in two of the fireplaces. I wouldn't dare use the generator without first having a CM detector.

Are our Texas FRiends checking in with their locations?

I loved spiff's maps for Katrina.
