This past weekend I did some personal undercover work at a local CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) fundraiser. I made off with a pocket handbook containing some deeply disturbing instructions to their members. I would like everyone to read it. 500 troops from of an army of 7000 (with reinforcements on the way) is a significant contribution. Much more than you're doing to stop babies from being boiled alive in Darfur.
Is the deeply disturbing part on the reverse side?
Five hundred is not a significant contribution. It's a joke. The Sudanese Army numbers 100,000 men in uniform. Add another 100,000 allied paramilitary and militia in an area the size of Texas, and even you might begin to appreciate how inadequate that number is. They'd better snooze.

500 troops is approx. 7% of Mali's armed forces, which is similar to the proportion of American troops (135,000 of approx. 2.2 million active, reserve and nat'l guard)

That said, I didn't think this pamphlet was too terribly disturbing...revealing, maybe.
I was especially amused by the advice on "Writing a letter to the editor" where it said, "Speak on behalf of an organization, even if you have to create that organization to work on that issue."
Pretty funny. And sadly, true.

The only part that is slightly troublesome to me is the "Rights of The Student" list and I suppose even that is within the bounds of basic human rights. What do you find so disturbing?
