Good Morning FR Finest.

Our Troops fight for our freedom and keep us safe.

We should thank our Troops every day and show our support for what they do,because they sacrifice everything for us.

Always remember that.......

It is the SOLDIER, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the SOLDIER, not the courts
who has given us the right to keep and bear arms
It is the SOLDIER, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the SOLDIER, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the SOLDIER, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the SOLDIER, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the SOLDIER, not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.
It is the SOLDIER, who salutes the Flag,
and serves under the flag.

So join me in saying........

God bless our Troops and their families!

God bless the USA,the land that I love!

Good morning.. thank you for the cuppa/devotion & for the thread Rus. Sorry still no resolution on the election.

Am I understanding that FReeper Mustang has died? was there a thread ? guess I missed it & would appreciate anyone pointing me in right direction

Hello Tweety.. do go back to weekend thread. Lots of folks greeted you there. Know you were busy(as usual) there on the homefront

All, I am devoting this weeks special recognition to OneLoyalAmerican. He is a coast guard reservist from Chicago who was called up the Cleveland Coast Guard Station over a year ago & recently to NO to help in people/pet rescue. We have gotten to know him here as he participates in our meetings, FReeps etc.He has just finished up on the rescue mission & is on way back to Cleveland as i key in here.

Here is a pix of Joe(OLA) & his wife - taken in January at his Chief promotion at CG Hdqtrs in cleveland

and here is a thread where he posted some thngs on the rescue effort. think you will enjoy reading all the comments from folks involved

Well, I worked something up on Saturday for monday (but like a little kid, couldn't wait to show it off & posted it Sat)..

so here it is where I intended it.

Tribute to my dad - Dr. Michael Grlicky. WW2 Pacific theater. 1917-1990. The pix are of the grave, his navy pix, his navy duffle bad & our family flag, sunset flag lifted from somewhere on FR, the masouleum, which is next to family plot on a ridge overlooking the Rocky River in Western suburbs of Cleveland.

I have it so I can rework & play with it somemore. I have learned to keep the pix in their graphic program format for future changes. Hard lesson learned

Good morning, Noosie.
Your graphic presentations are so professional looking now,
absorbing Miss Billie's tutoring like a duck taking to water!

This particular one, honoring the military, is especially striking with that lovely border.

Speaking of graphics, can't resist giving this one to you and Billie,
to alter for you to use as your 'signature' when posting elaborate table graphics - -

Perhaps making it read JUST DUCKY Graphics by Noosie
inscribed on it..:))

Oh go back & check out the thread.. I introduced my niece (a new FReeper) and cased for opinions on her logos.. Maggie & colonial warrior posted some good things too..It was a slow thread most of weekend. Seems everyone was busy elsewhere. My luck. A rare weekend when I can visit my friends & they are probably in Tahiti sipping a wonderful drink with a little umbrella & pineapple chunk!

weekend thread here

I saw the briefly posted Preview of your collage about your father.

Today's refinement is just beautiful, with the smaller scale!
It makes it easier to see the wonderful details.

Think I have the clue..

My hubby changes the "VIEW" of the Internet to LARGEST when he's online!
I thus saw it larger than usual...:))

(same thing causes me to see graphics with the border on the right
chopped off - have to click on smaller View to fix it)

glad you figured it out. Was wondering if Oliver has learned to use my photo editing program!!!

Just came back from FReeper memorial wall.. had not been there for awhile & did check back on Tammy (texasflower, whose untimely death shocked us all)

My, there have been a lot of young deaths. And I am sure for every death we know about there a multitude we never hear about... someone's password is locked up, family or friends never check out things like their frequent websites.. People just disappear & stop posting & we wonder why but never know for sure.

Well, I need to get a lot done today & I am having a very poor start (start? HA! it is almost 1 PM.. Well, I did do a few loads of laundry at Laundromat this AM & did a few piddly things.. but need to punch out a few big projects.

later

"The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."
