Muslims Enraged, Seething at Tasty Dessert (picture of infidel dessert included)

Cowardice, thy name is Burger King: Burger King recalls ‘sacrilegious’ desserts. (Hat tip: efuseakay.)

THE fast-food chain, Burger King, is withdrawing its ice-cream cones after the lid of the dessert offended a Muslim.

The man claimed the design resembled the Arabic inscription for Allah, and branded it sacrilegious, threatening a “jihad”.

The chain is being forced to spend thousands of pounds redesigning the lid with backing from The Muslim Council of Britain. It apologised and said: “The design simply represents a spinning ice-cream cone.”

The offending lid was spotted in a branch in Park Royal last week by business development manager Rashad Akhtar, 27, of High Wycombe.

He was not satisfied by the decision to withdraw the cones and has called on Muslims to boycott Burger King. He said: “This is my jihad. How can you say it is a spinning swirl? If you spin it one way to the right you are offending Muslims.”

A Muslim Council spokesman said: “We commend the sensitive and prompt action that Burger King has taken.”

They start with seemingly inconsequential things to complain about and demand change, and then work up to the big stuff....

Like Liberals?

"She was Clint Eastwood, with a low-heeled pump."

LOL! My mother was as well. Plus she wore heels everywhere...even mowing the lawn (the one time). If for some reason she was shoeless, she would head for the broom. She could work it like a martial artist.

This is that "cultural confidence" that Steyn referred to in his articles on Islam. What it amounts to is a number of young Moslem men walking around with a chip on their collective shoulder daring the world to knock it off. Of course they're bullies. They're very successful bullies.

"Mau Mau"ing was a successful agitator's technique in the 70's until people started to fight back. This is nothing more than that bit of threat and violence rehashed. It will continue as long as it is successful.

Reason enough for me to break down and buy some Burger King ice cream – do they have this at American outlets?

The ice cream lid on the right seems to have some sexual overtones to it.

HaHa! That is a fancy lid. My dog created something resembling the graphic of the ice cream lid on the left. I was disturbed, but refrained from declaring Jihad.

Whew, that was close. We wouldn't want Burger King to become a "gathering ground" for terrorists.

My 4-year old just looked at this picture and yelled, "Happy Meal....Yeah!!!"

...so much for the IQ level of our 'Muslim friends' at Burger King....

"Suitable for transfer to toilette paper."

Would be a waste since they don't use any. Wash instead, at least that's what was used in Iran.

Suitable for transfer to toilette paper.

You know...I'd pay good money for a suitably imprinted roll. Or perhaps a value pack.

"Sounds like the dingbats here in the US who are enraged because the memorial resembles a crescent."

That is so off the mark. A completely invalid comparison, a memorial to victims that includes a symbol commonly used by the attackers, versus a scribble on an ice cream container.

I hope that was sarcasm, otherwise, your observation is beyond stupid.

In all fairness, it isn't just Muslims who go in for this kind of thing.

Remember how Proctor and Gamble had to threaten lawsuits to quash the protestant rumor that the 13 stars (hmm . . .in an American company's symbol. . .13 stars, now what could that be? Nope, wrong, they were (drumroll please)) were Satanic?

I know someone (a Christian) who won't buy Toyotas because the T made of two ovals in an oval looks like some doohicky found in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. (I kid you not.)

Isn't Burger King the place where they said: "have it your way"? This is my way: ice cream that offends the hell out of Muslims.
