They are in for a rough day tomorrow.
Is it still a full moon tonight? That also will make the tides higher than normal.
Yup but hopefully not a killer day, we are all making plans around here, looks like my spare car (bad tires and all) will be hitting the road weds or thurs, got a couple of employees that are carless. I will see to it that they all get out if NHC forecast holds. When I will hold up in a nice strong 3 story here for Rita.
I find that it is SOP at the NHC and the NWS, the same detailed and advance warnings as always and still people do not heed the warnings.
3 weeks from possibly the worst natural disaster in our countries history and people are still going to "ride it out". Katrina went from a car 3 to cat 5 in about 24 hours. Rita could do the same which puts it at a cat 3 or high 2.
Maybe it is just me being from Dallas and not understanding such complicated things as 100mph winds and 5-10ft storm surge on an island thats is like 6 feet above sea level (I am not exactly sure on this but it cant be much above sea level, I have been there and it looked really flat to me.)
Go Cowboys!
