Thank you, it was a lively thread today, and it did distract me from the Dolphins puke fest in NY. They will do better next week, they are not used to weather under 110 degrees on the field. LOL! My spouse is in a foul mood about the Dolphins, but it must be a man thing. I am competitive but I am pragmatic that they are in a learning process with a new coach. That's my story and I am sticking to it. I am very lucky to not be a Saints fan, it must really hurt to have your whole season screwed up after the trauma they already went through.

If it were held today,Dreier would lose by five points,He is directly tied to the party's national standing in a way unlike any Congressman save Tom Delay. He will get blamed for everything. If it is a down year for the GOP,Dreier will be the bellweather.
The GOP in Colorado is incompetent and needs a serious overhaul.
If the GOP does not deliver the agenda,it could be a down year.

I think he's a bully. He came onto the situation blasting away at the men under his command. Next thing, he's blasting the soldiers for having their weapons at the ready. Tells them it's not Iraq, put your weapons pointing towards the back or pointing downward.

Pretending there was no danger.

There was plenty for the soldiers to fear.

?Of course, I wasn't there but I don't think I'm alone in believing there were looters, shooters, and all around thugs and gang bangers at large.

That may be positive to you, but it sounds like a "pipe dream " to me. What percentage of the voting Population do you think is to the right of center? If it is not 51 percent, it is virtually impossible for people that are really right of center to win anywhere besides their home district. Most of us understand this and we realize we have to deal incrementally to maintain the Majority, and we resent people screwing it up for our hard work by being strident and chasing away people we are trying to recruit. If they are not afraid of us, they will listen and change. It is natural for people to reject left wingers but we have to get them to listen first to see the bright, uplifting Party of ideas.

and his relationship with Clinton.

I think it is a gesture towards "bi-partisanship" Clinton can get money from people that would slam the door in a Bush's face. Better to put him to useful work like non-political fund raising. Clinton is going to get Media attention no matter what Bush does about him. I mean, just look how Bush has totally frozen out Carter yet we continually hear from that rabid fool.

Reagan won big twice.

Muddling the differences causes close elections. Half like Coke, half like Pepsi.

No, my comment was in response to Clinton's statement that Katrina is a positive event because it will make people see that they need big government to take care of them and that people will see that they need the Democrats to do that. I also hope that no local LA politician will be able to oversee any of the federal aid money.

My problem with LA is that I was stationed there in the 70's. I know firsthand the corruption in that state. As I firmly believe that Edwin Edwards is the puppet master behind Blanco. Louisianna's corruption and fraudulent elections did not just happen overnight. This has been a long time coming. They were just hoping that it would never see the light of day.

I do believe in Federalism and states rights. There are certain things that the Federal Government can do better than anything else and there are certain things that the federal government should not be involved in.

If Weldon can blow the Able Danger case wide open, the Democrats might go the way of the Whigs.

Then we can finally eliminated the pseudoconservatives.

I pray so!

I've been praying for something like Able Danger since Oklahoma City.

Once the people know how Clinton purposely ignored and covered up terrorism and how it led to 3,000 dead on 9/11 they'll never be electable again.

Bill and Co thought it was a brilliant move to put Gorelick "the fixer" on the commission, they though wrong.

Okay...I see what you mean....

Back about 20 years ago when I was a mother of young children and didn't have the time or inclination to pay much attention to politics...even I knew that Louisiana was famous for 2 things..

the Mardi Gras...and corrupt government officials...of course it almost seem like a joke back then...but, like I said...I wasn't paying as much attention back then.

I have been dismayed at even what I consider relatively honest media members that have complained about how long it took Bush to get the troops into NO....without even acknowledging the steps that are needed before a POTUS can just "send" in troops, legally, that is.

Have you noticed how many of the 9/11 Commission members have come out blasting Bush about his handling of Katrina...and calling Weldon a hot-head or liar...

but, I don't recall seeing Ms. Gorelick on all of the talk shows THIS time!!! hmmmmmmmm

His stature does not grow or decrease when Bush asks him to head up one of these fund raising efforts.

I hope and pray that you are right. I just bristle at the MSM's love affair with Clinton.

And, I am not happy with the headline on Drudge either about this whole matter.

I don't think I could even stand to be in the same room as Clinton, much less fawn all over him. LOL

I have been such a strong Bush supporter and as I have someone very valuable to me involved in this war,to hear Clinton bash Bush again and again and by continuum bash our country and military, sometimes just gets to me.

Hope, this clears up any misunderstanding.

As hard as it is....and I am sure it must be really hard for Pres. Bush himself...

we must just keep the big picture in mind...and remember that we are dealing with small people with small dreams and NO COURAGE....

Your loved one has courage, you do to....and it is taking a lot of courage for President Bush to continue on while being bashed left and right....but IMHO...it just makes it more imperative that we speak up when we have a chance.

WE cannot let this country fall into the hands of people that worship at the feet of Bubba!

Bush was damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The media would have bashed him either way. I would say that I despise the media, but that's giving them far too much credit. LOL

There are time lines for Katrina that prove that Bush acted quickly and legally as soon as possible.

Thanks for the information....

You know, the same people that are complaining about Bush not getting the military in fast enough, are the same ones that are raising Cain over the Patriot Act..especially the part about the feds being able to check out what BOOKS someone checks out of the library...
