Nice slogans. What are the SOLUTIONS? What should Bush and Republican Congress be doing about Hurricane Recovery?

What is the "conservative" agenda you wish to advance?

And the answer is?

Earlier you said this has nothing to do with Ronald Reagan, if that is true then change your handle to Bruce Reagan Man or Hortense Reagan man, you are saying to everyone in your handle that Ronald Reagan is who you idolize. You complain about GWB, but do not admit to any non conservative things that Ronald Reagan had to do in his Presidency. You have backed yourself in a corner and there is no place to go. We are not throwing 300 billion at this problem. we are Americans and will take care of the Gulf and it will take taxpayer dollars, but most of the expense will be handled by Businessmen and entrepreneurs investing in that area. There will be many caveats to spending the money, and I believe they will make sure that no flim flam organizations handle the money. Do you think the feds have any responsibility for anything?

Did you know that a lot of that money and more is earmarked for businesses to be financed in the GAZA STRIP????

The people that move in there just demolished greenhouses that had been moneymakers for the Jewish people in those settlements...and the Palistinians just destroyed them..

and yet King Bubba is getting his rich socialist, communist friends to throw more money at them!!!

>>>>So, your solution is to carp about spending. The President gets to make the decisions, and if you don't like them, you gripe? And you refuse to offer an alternative solution?

Spoken like a good Bush cheerleader. LOL Refuse isn't the case. Again. The President made some big promises. He is expanding the federal bureaucracy and spending taxpayer funds in an out of control manner. There are enough government programs in place right now to handle the load. We don't need anymore government programs designed to handout more and more taxpayer funds.

>>>>This is NOT "throwing money" at the problem. It is wise stewardship of funds that he is REQUIRED to spend.

Baloney. With few exceptions, in my lifetime the federal government has been throwing money at problems for 40 years. $8-trillion. It would appear Bush43 and the GOP Congress are no different. Just keeping up with the liberals.

>>>>And I see that really, you don't have a solution.

You've been ignoring what I've been posting and for good reason. You have no problem with Bush and the GOP Congress spending whatever it takes and expanding government to accomplish whatever they want to achieve. That maybe good politics, but its bad policy. The solution isn't to throw endless money at problems. Besides, the federal governemnt is lousy at solving most problems. Finding reasonable solutions is the answer. $200-billion isn't reasonable to this conservative.

I've been reading your non-answer "answers", but I have not yet read your answer to the direct question of "What would YOU do?" In other words, what would be YOUR solution instead of Pres.Bush's?

I am worried about Pennsylvania....Santorum's numbers are supposedly still lower than Casey's...

NOT that I believe polls...I don't, but Santorum is going to need (gulp) Specter's help, and I don't see Specter working THAT hard for him...which will be a shame, considering that Pat Toomey would have been much better than Specter as a Senator...but Santorum "played the game, by the old boy network rules"...and my get burned.

Don't forget the huge amount of dead people that voted in NJ. The republican Party in NJ did an investigation and found voters registered in several counties and several states besides their home county in NJ. The Democrats of course think it is all much ado about nothing.

Good points...

I think that Bush needs to have the Governors and Mayor accept their responsibilities----and get THEM to let their citizens know what will/won't be done FOR them in an emergency...

BUT, I will never let Nagin off the hook for his NOT using the buses or Amtrak...

Instead of trying to box me in, why don't you listen to what I've been posting. You may learn something.

Bottomline. You support the President and his proposals to spend whatever it takes to rebuild the gulf coast region. As a fiscal conservative, I disagree.

PS- Rebuilding the Port of NO won't cost $200-billion.

Reagan Man, Please explain to me how your posting hundreds of posts all over Free Republic threads doing nothing but bashing Bush and the GOP Congress helps you "Advance the Conservative agenda"?

What exactly is the "conservative agenda" you wish to advance. As was pointed out, not what YOU dislike, what you want advanced?

I think you are being a knee-jerk Buchananite...

And I think you're being an irrational knee-jerk Bush cheerleader.

You said that Bush's speech made a case for cradle to grave nannyism....you must listen with a mind so closed that you don't have the capacity to really hear what he is saying...

I don't think he said any such thing...but, I will say that you are WAY off when you dismiss this hurricane damage as so much LESS as 9/11...and you come off as completely uncaring..which I hadn't QUITE decided you are.

But, this last post pretty much has convinced me that you aren't a fiscally conservative...you are an uncaring penny-pincher.

This is 2005, not 1985. This is all about Bush43, not about Reagan. LOL

You're just another cheerleader for Bush and if that's the extent of your politics, so be it.

It's everywhere....Started following it before the election when two "rats" running in the primary turned each other in....both were found guilty....

The really GOOD news is something IS being done....where previously the corruption had just manifested itself from one election cycle to the next.

NOLA will be forced to do a purge of the election records just because of the magnatude of people in the area....On another thread a freeper said both sets of her grandparents had voted (D) in the last two elections. When living they had been Republicans.....NOw is the time to strike that fire.

I'd say those who have been shadey should be shaking....Investigations are being made and indictments are being handed down.

Auntie Phillis Landrieu, President of the NOLA school board had NOT authorized the use of the school buses for evacuation.....Minutes from the meeting were posting on a thread earlier this week....Sorry don't know where, but you should be able to "Google" it.

Blank-o and Naygun would have had to overrule a Landrieu....You really think that's going to happen?

Apparently you think calling people a "Bush cheerleader" is some sort of insult. I wear it as a badge of honor. With all of the flack he gets from the media, the democrats, and the "perfect conservatives," someone has to support him. I do, and proudly. I am proud of him as my president, proud of all he has accomplished, and proud to say I worked to get him elected.

NO president, with the exception of FDR, has had the problems thrown at him that President Bush has. He has had to deal with terorist attacks, wars, national disasters, treachery (Jeffords), and all the while very few stand in his defense, certainly not many in the media.

Apparently you think that your carping is productive. I do not. You offer no constructive solutions, only rants about what you don't like. You have never answered the specific questions I put to you. Your reponse is to call me a "Bush cheerleader" and gripe about "throwing money." WHen it has been demonstrated to you that 1. a good portion of the spending is required by the Stafford law and 2. that private sector will pick up a lot of the cost and 3. there will be heavy oversight of federal money, you refuse to answer.

I consider your comments to be without substance.
