Thank you for the update. Juan's talking points memo must have that theory in it to appease the MoveOn crowd. This has been in their playbook for some time now. Karl Rove is behind everything that happens in the White House.

Rush said he pulled a 'Rush'. Now when they try to say he is wrong, he can ask where they would cut.

Juan just said that Karl Rove is in charge of the rebuilding in NO.

Meanwhile, Louisiana National Guards in Iraq are pushing Raging Cajun for Lousiana Governor?

Mr. DeLay said the budget this year was pared down and 100 programs or offices were eliminated in this year's spending bills. "We have been doing that for 11 years," he said. He said it's an "ongoing process" that will be more complete after this year's budget process, which calls for cuts to Medicaid and other entitlement programs. Rep. Patrick T. McHenry, North Carolina Republican, agreed that Republicans "have been more fiscally sound than the Democrats were in their decades in the House."

Yikes. We are all DemonRATS now.

What big disaster did he have that would have involved FEMA?

Hurricane Floyd. They did an abysmal job of it.

But DeLay has no interest in doing that because, no doubt, he honestly believes that under 11 years of Republican leadership that the government is lean and mean, and not larger and more bloated than anything under the Democrats.

Now THAT is the most idiotic statement I've ever seen. Delay is setting up the Democrats. You ought to be smart enough to know that. Delay has NEVER been outsmarted by his opposition. Were you to be correct, Delay would be gone. Ask yourself why the Democrats have been trying so hard to get rid of him. It is because they cant beat him. Wake up.

Wonderful link her Anita!!
Here's a quote from the Capts. log stardate....
IN a piece about govt corruption in la. it looks like a few may fry soon.

"Even in the notoriously corrupt govt. of La. having receipts for only 3% of govt. spending has to set a new record for opacity"

Way to go Anita, great post. Hopefully some of these Louisiana officials will be in hot soup sooner rather than....

'It has nothing to do with actually getting the job done right.'

May I make a slight correction? 'It has nothing to do with actually getting the job done, right or wrong.'

Says we were getting pretty good at responding to natural disasters by MY second term.

Amazing. A real journalist would have had data in hand showing that the Katrina response was at least as timely, if not more so, than previous responses. Instead, this hiney kisser lets Bubba reinvent history once again.

Perhaps I expect too much.

Liberal wishing for something is actually better than trying to DO something. They never have to see the results of a failed initiative.

Baltimore is a majority black town and our [white] mayor started his term in office by having a campaign called BELIEVE. Huge black banners with BELIEVE in white lettering hang on public buildings all over the city. I have no idea what it is that people are supposed to believe in. That someone else is going to pick up their trash? Fix the sagging roof on their home? Get them through school without studying? It is totally ridiculous! If we ever had a disaster that forced large numbers of people into an arena somewhere, I suspect we would see a lot of the same antisocial behavior. Baltimore's and its surrounding counties stats really mirror those of New Orleans.

This 'brilliant' mayor wants to be governor of Maryland!

She does my sex no favours as it reinforces the prejudice that women crumble and get emotional in a crisis.

We remember and revere Margaret Thatcher.

"Would the earth cease to spin without the face of Joseph Biden, D-Del staring back at us from our idiot box?"

Seeing that smarmy, "I am so damn much smarter than anyone else in the whole world!" smile, just makes me gag. I would love to punch his commie lights out.

I think it goes deeper than that though I think it is modern society whether it be left or right we want things instantly and we are not prepared to wait or put up with things until we get what we can afford.

How many young couples nowadays would be satisfied in starting out with second hand furniture. They want a brand new house with brand new furniture.

This fast food mentality has seeped into all spheres of life whether it be business political or family life.
