Do you live in the hurricane-affected area? If so, I'm glad you're OK,and hope that all loved ones are present and accounted for. My oldest stepson had one of the old homes on Highway 90(the beach road) that weathered Camille, but Katrina got it-it was a huge pile of debris. Fortunately,he had a second rental home that was empty,so he's moved there for now.His wife's family upstate is chipping in on some furniture, and he was able to salvage some of his own. My neighborhood had a lot of wind damage-trees and fences down, shingles and eaves,wind-blown debris, etc, but we were high enough to avoid the storm surge-which was a miracle,as I'm sandwhiched in a few blocks from the beach on the south, and the bay north of me. When I see the total destruction all around me,I know how blessed I am.I can't even imagine what it's like for people who lost everything they own,or worse yet, loved ones. We've had various family staying with us,but people are starting to get stabilised.

"Do you live in the hurricane-affected area?"

Well, all my neighbors and relatives get worked up every year about it. But I'm hundreds of miles from sea [wish I were closer normally]. And it's only a tropical storm IF it even reaches here. Ophelia hit NC south of here and left. That's my non-drama.

Like you say, Thank God. The reason I live here is that my grandfather had concluded this was a great retirement area. He factored in natural disasters. So I guess I inherited his research.

FRegards....
