Stung by the success and resilience of the patriotic counter-demonstration by Freepers of Code Pink's ghoulish 'antiwar' protests outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Code Pink leader Gael Murphy and a couple Pinkos distributed flyers door to door to the houses in a several block area around Walter Reed urging residents to call the police in order to run off the D.C. Chapter from there.
The two sided flyers featured a graphic promoting the 'antiwar' activities in Washington next weekend on one side and a letter from Code Pink to the residents in the Walter Reed neighborhood on the other.
The letter is typical Code Pinko propaganda. They give the residents their same old line about they care for the soldiers, blah, blah, blah. They don' t tell them that Code Pink endorsed Al Qaeda in Iraq and gave $650,000 to the terrorists in Fallaujah.
In the letter, they also warn the residents to expect a much larger crowd next Friday because of the 'antiwar' rally.
Code Pink closes the letter by accusing us of "disrupting the quiet" of the neighborhood because we "often yell and raise (our) voices in anger" at Code Pink.
Code Pink then tells the residents, "Please know that you can contact the Washington DC Police Department to ask that peace and quiet be restored."
Unfortunately for Code Pink, the D.C. noise ordinance doesn't apply until 10 p.m. Being that we have a demonstration permit and only use our unamplified voices to direct our comments across the street, our activities fall under First Amendment protections.
Also, out of respect for the neighbors, we keep it down after 9 p.m. (One of the two corners we stand at is in front of the end of a block of row houses. The other corner is in front of a parking lot for a church that doesn't hold services Friday evenings.)
Code Pink, of course, cares nothing for the 'quiet' of the soldiers and their families as they try to put their lives together at Walter Reed. They care only about lowering morale and trying to bring about the defeat of America in the war.
Code Pink can't beat Freepers mano a mano, so they tried a sneaky trick to get us run off by the police.
It is worth noting that yet again a Code Pinko came across the street and tried to start a fight. The 'man' chickened out and went back to his corner when bmwcyle informed him that the police had told us to call them if any of the Code Pinkos came across the street to harrass us.

"Cute" Susan "Media" Benjamin "Peace" Protester, Code Pinko, with the silver earrings from the 60's. For some reason they think wearing a pink slip on top of their clothes is "cool"?!
Believe it or not she is married (to another "Peace" protester) and they have two daughters. She is the daughter of a RICH contractor who has given her the privilege of NOT GETTING A DAMN JOB, EVER.
This is "her work". She travels the WORLD and PROTESTS. That's it!
LOL !! I think you're correct!
If you're in town on Friday and can take the Metro to Takoma Station, skip the cab (and save the $$). I'll pick you up at the Metro station - it's only a couple of minutes away.
Congrats again on your wedding.

Dear Peace & Justice Organizers,
There are many ways to promote peace & justice in our world, but when we face an immediate conflict, indeed a promised "war without end," it first helps to step back and look at how it all began. Our current "War on (some) Terror" was birthed, if not conceived, on September 11, 2001. That day was a terrible funeral pyre for many, but a golden opportunity for some.
Only a year before, the Project for a New American Century, a think tank for the neocon crowd that now controls the White House and the Pentagon, published a martial wish list entitled "Rebuilding America's Defenses." Their report outlined our "urgent need" to inflate defense spending, control Mideast oil, deploy exotic new weapons, and reorganize our forces to fight and win several simultaneous wars. Their stated goal was full spectrum global dominance, a "Pax Americana," but they grudged that such a transformation would take forever "absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor."
Consider then all the ignored warnings, quashed investigations and missing air defenses that preceded 9/11 and gave them this golden opportunity. And post-9/11 consider Condi Rice's chilling remarks: "Now, we have an opportunity and an obligation to move forward together. Bold and comprehensive changes are sometimes only possible in the wake of catastrophic events... Just as World War II led to a fundamental reorganization of our national defense structure, so has September 11th made possible sweeping changes in the ways we protect our homeland."
Besides pre-emptive wars, September 11th also "made possible sweeping changes" in the ways the government has stifled our freedoms, enriched corporate backers, attacked the environment, and shred the social safety net. All these current onslaughts draw their strength from 9/11 and the public's fearful ignorance of what happened on that day.
The truth is we still don't know why we were left so utterly defenseless on 9/11. But before that tragedy is used to justify the death of one more soldier, one more civil liberty, or one more law protecting the environment or the poor, hard questions must be asked. The victims' family groups like the 9/11 Family Steering Committee, which campaigned furiously for the creation of the 9/11 Commission, have grown increasingly frustrated with what they now see as a cover-up. They are therefore calling for a new, truly independent inquiry -- one that is not run by DC insiders with long ties to those they are supposed to probe, one that will finally answer the questions they have been asking since day one.
Please join with 9/11 family members and support groups like www.911truth.org to advance this cause and get involved.

Ditto what Landry Fan said. May you have many happy years together and plenty of (conservative) kids, too!
The government stopped people from dying chicks for Easter but you are allowed to DYE YOUR DOG?!!! SICK PEOPLE!
OMG that letter is infuriating!! One BS line after another.
Thanks and I am going to try to webcam it.
Oh and I just wanted to add a big THANK YOU to the DC FReepers and others who are really there to support our wounded!
I have despised these people for 40 years.
When I was about 10, we lived near the back gate of Hickam AFB in Hawaii. Casualties from Vietnam would land at Hickam and be transported in buses to Tripler Army Hospital. There was nothing but a field and playground between us and the road so I had a very good view. Some of my memories are of watching caravans of two or three buses with big crosses on them exiting the back gate of Hickam and being confronted by protestors yelling, spitting, and holding up signs saying who knows what. I cannot imagine how those guys felt (those who could see or comprehend what was happening).
I knew what was going on in Vietnam but I don't think I really realized what their protests meant at the time. I knew it was very wrong and I will never forget it.
These are the same people.
Thanks so much for hugging my homeboy soldier tonight!!! I hope you gave him an extra hug for me!! I missed being there and look forward to my trip next month. I'll bring reinforcements!!
Great sign!! Keep up the great work!!
Good luck next week! You guys are the best!!!
You do not have to be in DC to show support for the Troops.
Visit your local military base today and at least once a week.
Or a military or veteran hospital.
If you can't do that then send an e-mail or packeage
to our troops for morale support.
Proud Patriots -
Sending care packages,
e-mails, and snail mail
to US Military worldwide.

We need coast to coast support for the troops, now, more than ever.
Thanks for the ping.
The phrase, "breaking into jail" comes to mind...
Seriously though, congratulations and best wishes.
