Blair ‘shocked’ over BBC Katrina coverage

Tony Blair was shocked by the BBC's coverage of Hurricane Katrina's devastation of New Orleans, describing it as “full of hatred of America”, Rupert Murdoch, chairman and chief executive of News Corporation, revealed on Friday night.

Mr Murdoch, a long-time critic of the BBC who controls rival Sky News, said the prime minister had recounted his feelings in a private conversation earlier this week in New York.

Tony Blair should wake up and smell the tea and crumpets. The BBC (British Bureau of Communists) has hated America for a long time, along with the rags in Fleet Street.

Any American who does not consider UK as a true ally, and Tony Blair as a SOLID backer of US is simply detached from reality.

BBC is the favorite darling of a significant number of Brits. The public at large...don't want to see it go away...but paying the TV tax which increases every year...makes them less friendly than ever. After the last little episode...there was a turn-over of management, and more controls put on the news department. The Brit's have a history of turning government owned operations over to private businesses (the train system for example). I would expect in 10 years to see some kind of private company running the BBC....at least the TV part of the company. Its amusing that the liberals within the BBC are destroying thier own future.

It is just the BBC version of, "My American Cousin" MSM. With the way (un) American MSM portrays America, the foreign press just takes their cue from them.

If they kept it to themselves, I wouldn't mind, but they broadcast world wide and then presume to poll "world opinion." I really think that state owned TV is one of Europe's big problems.

Ditto from a newbie! Leaned on, threatened, arm-twisted, and blackmailed, bribed, cajoled, extorted, sweet-talked...I always ask myself after each Israeli concession, 'when will you ever learn, it ain't in your best interest and in the long run it's not in ours either.'

The BBC has an especially angry and hate-filled anti-American bigotry. I watched some of their coverage of the war in Iraq when I was on a visit to London and it was stomach-turning. It made CNN look like Human Events.

CNN International sure can give the BBC a run for its money.
