Vice President Cheney is scheduled to undergo surgery next weekend to treat an aneurysm, his spokesman confirmed to Roll Call today.
Nominee Roberts is I think......
My best wishes to the Vice President.
Maybe not the best time to post this but I always thought that VP Cheney would resign by 2006 stating health reasons. President Bush would then bring in his choosen successor for 2008 as VP as a sort of prime time on the job training.
Prayers for the VP and his family.
Alexander Haig.
Just kidding - but I think it is Secretary of State next in the Executive pecking order.
Prayers, big time, to the really BIG GUY.
I don't know. I think this is elective surgery if I am not mistaken but with his heart any surgery is risky.
You are kidding right?
If not, no one. The position is purely cermonial unless the president should die in which case if the VP was not able to take the reins of power, it would go to Denny Hastert as Speaker of the House, then the Speaker Pro Temore of the Senate (Sen from Alaska).
If the VP should die, his replacement is selected by the president and I believe confirmed by the Senate (only seen it happen when Ford was appointed VP and then Rockefeller when Ford succeeded Nixon).
You must be in the Alexander Haig school. Following 25th ammendment, it is now Speaker of the House but he wouldnt take the job unless the president was dying too.
Prayers for VP Cheney and his family. Speedy Recovery!
Prayers for a successful surgery.
prayers from Texas, Mr. V.P.
prayers and good thing it is under the nee rather then somewhere inside!!
Prayers for Vice President Cheney and his family.
Not only Bush's fault, but Karl Rove punched Cheney in the knee while he was asleep, because he knew Bush would blow up the leevee; but what he did not expect was crazy, racist louis farakann would have his nation of islam thugs there to protect the NOLA's poor people, and uncover the evil plot. The inhumanity of that Texan and his brain. I expect to see pigs fly pretty soon and the beast to be sleeping with Slick WILLIE again.
Condi and Big Time to change jobs? Wouldn't that be cool.
Poor Al got a bad reputation from that incident, but I watched it live and never thought that he was trying to "take over". The reports were hollering and interrupting while he was trying to update everyone on the hectic events of Reagan's health. He was telling the reporters that he was in control of the press conference. That made them mad, and they tweeked the comment to sound like the Reagan Presidency was in chaos. I wish we could see the whole meeting again.
No, I think it's the Speaker of the House.
