Besides who takes anything seriously from two guys with names like extras from Lord of the Rings?
This article, though I only skimmed parts of it, perfectly encapsulates my life.
I like to write mass emails to my friends and with every email I always bash two people/things: Communism and "my immortal archnemesis Senor Bono" (I'm creative, what can I say?).
Seriously, the dude is evil.
Great rant.
Because zillions of people have paid them money to hear what they say (sing), so they extrapolate that out and figure that folks want to hear what they think, as well.
If a Bono or a Geldof speaks in the woods, and no-one hears them, do they make a sound???
Because people who think they are important believe it is their responsibility to bless the great unwashed(us, well me at least) with their wisdom.
Famous=important=wise
I read that at the Toronto Film Festival a few days ago a homeless man asked Bono for money, he gave him 2 Canadian dollars. He said "The crusader for ending poverty isn't very generous himself" or words to that affect. They are all hypocrites, living their lavish self-indulgent lives, asking us to contribute, giving almost nothing themselves for their "causes" except rhetoric.
Yaaawwwwwwnnnnn. U2's popularity completely escapes me.
