Clicking through the radio dial on a drive through Virginia the other day, I had the occasion to listen to Bill O'Reilly posturing as a political independent who takes on the left and right. He said he had come under attack by a "right-wing" website because he wouldn't interview Ed Klein, the author of The Truth About Hillary. I presume he's referring to Accuracy in Media. We have done extensive reporting on the coverage of the Klein book and have found it strange that O'Reilly has joined with the liberal media in suppressing discussion of the serious charges in the book. O'Reilly claims it constitutes a "personal attack" on Senator Clinton when the book is an examination of her character. We headlined our AIM Report on the matter, "Character Counts for Hillary Clinton." It counts for O'Reilly, too. If he wants to debate it, give me a call.
Ironically, as noted by NewsMax, O'Reilly has commented on his show about how the Times "is out to destroy" author Ed Klein. At that point, O'Reilly had counted eight negative articles about the Klein book. Yet he refuses to give Klein any air time to discuss his book or the attacks on him. O'Reilly has devoted many stories to the Natalee Holloway case in Aruba, raising all kinds of questions about possible suspects in the case, but he can't bring himself to interview a respected journalist who has researched the truth about Senator Clinton. This doesn't make much sense, unless you conclude that O'Reilly doesn't want to engage in "personal attacks" because he is so vulnerable to them. The sexual harassment charges lodged by a former associate were a big embarrassment for him. He settled those charges with a big pay-out before they went to court.

Did it ever occur to anyone that perhaps why Bill O won't interview Klein is because:
a. As far as anyone knows, Klein's accusations have not been proven, even if (wink, nod) we know they are true. This woman has a thicker coat of Teflon than John Gotti and she literally dodges raindrops. Klein's book does little to sway people to the republican side because most people are weary of all the Clinton scandals.
b. That if Klein was given airtime, in fairness, Hitlery must receive the courtesy of rebutting, which she will never do ON BILL'S SHOW (empahsis added). No excitement, no ratings for Klein, mega hoopla for The Hildebeest. In the end, not worth it for Bill to do when you know she won't take the bait.
c. There is no hoopla surrounding Klein's book, except for some of us here who believe that the book itself is somehow a weapon to be used against Her Heinous. That idea, btw, that the book is political dynamite, is ludacrous. Klein could have written that Hillary eats puppies for breakfast, raw, with photos to prove it and there would still be a vigorous defense and explaining away of her behavior by her supporters. In the end, they'll yack so much that we'll forget what the original debate was about (i.e. puppies as breakfast food) and somehow get bored with the whole thing.
She's done it before, you know.
Concentrate on beating Hillary on issues (by asking her for specifics when she throws up a platitude) not by trying to tear down her character. Most people already know she doesn't have one, and for some, it wouldn't matter if she did.
I would be one of them. I have read the book and it is full of rumors and gossip. The facts presented are well known already - nothing new.
Hillary is a serious threat to our country, plenty of reasons not to vote for her without hinting throughout the book that she is a lesbian and has lesbian friends or that she has always known about bubba's womanizing.
I lik Bill O'Reilly. He is a good speaker, and he is reports on news, not a lot of garbage. He's so much better than those hacks at cnn.
What is word wrap? should it be on or off?
Doesn't he host "A Current Affair?"
No, but is he "having a current affair" may be more apt.
O'Reilly is trying to keep from offending anyone on the left so it won't interfere with what he hopes to be his next step up. Whatever that is. Even when he is touting his "conservative" views he seems lukewarm at best. He never met a leftist looney that he wasn't willing to give a forum.
I'm not sure that you can ever say that Independents, moderates or middle-of-the-roaders ever take a stance based on principal. That's kind of an oxymoron.
"I think actually Oreilly didn't hold a poll for interviewing Klein."
He said he did. He said that he held one for the Kitty Kelly book and stated that the same would apply to the other end of the spectrum with the Klein book. Both polls were negative and he used that as an example that the "folks" didn't care for "bomb-throwers" left or right.
For the record, I don't always agree with O'Reilly. Maybe 60% of the time. That said, I don't think he is as bad as many here make him out to be. Just my personal tastes and opinion.
Kincaid isn't questioning O'Reilly's right to not have Klein on, but his judgment in so doing.
O'Reilly knows that copies of his phone sex tapes are in the hands of Hillary's minions, just waiting to be relased upon her command.
"I caught a little bit of a mutual admiration society going on between BOR and Chuckie Schumer last night."
These two should get along likes peas in a pod! They are both ego-maniacs and media whores. Be interesting to count the number of times each one of them said "I" or "me"!!
B.O. is a pompous windbag. I can't fathom why so many people listen to him. He's a little like Dick Morris. Once you play both sides, neither one can really trust you.
Oh good grief. This is easy.
O'RiledUp is still holding on to a delusional hope that Hillary! will agree to give him an interview. He's not about to do anything to screw that up.
IMHO if the poll had been 99.9% in favor of Klein, O'realy still would have not interviewed him, he couldn't risk alienating Queen Hillery.
O'Reilly is about as much conservative as I am pregnant. Like any self-respecting liberal, he knows that showing his true opinions would mean that no-one would listen to him.
FYI..NY POST has a blurb today ( Murdoch owns FOX and the POST) that John Gobson, who hjas a show on Fox from 5-6 that many on FR like, has just signed to do a three hour daily radio show on FOX radio..from 6-9PM weekdays..
I watched the schumer interview last night...found it to be kinda funny some of the things he discussed with schumer...I don't even think Bill realized some statements he made to schumer were things schumer supports big-time as a far left loon. However, it is funny to hear schumer discuss Scalia and Thomas on the SC...and how he loathes them for the American stands they've taken in their opinions. LOL....
BOR and his show haven't aged well. I enjoyed both at the beginning of his show's run on FNC but have slowly watched both the host and the show degenerate into 'everything about me' narcissm usually found in Elite (never having to tell the truth) media including the networks. His high initial ratings seemed to have ruined his ability to honestly evaluate his show and himself. Brainpower lost due to big head.
Wonder if he had Pat O'Brien make those calls for him.
Hey, you forgot the worst (by far) of the three - Alan Colmes
