I do not believe in using federal funds to rebuild the flawed parts of a flawed city either. You never bothered to find that out. It's not about rebuilding New Orleans for me right now. I'm still mourning a place that I came to love like a family member... because I took the time to fall in love with it... unlike the unwashed and uncivilized millions who came to throw beads, flash boobs and puke in the gutter.
I have a fundamental problem with buffoons pissing on the memory of a place that they never visited or never bothered to know. Keep your bliss in ignorance. I give.

GRRRR!
It doesn't matter. Bush has laid his reputation and credibility on the line in this effort.
Now, if we can only change the WTC rebuilding to be higher than the original.
And I am, and have been, talking about nothing else. So this conversation apparently doesn't exist. Have a nice day.

You are perfectly free to love the place, despite its rampant corruption, high crime rates, poverty, moral decadence and all the rest of it. Love it all you want. Rebuild it, even. As long as you don't try to use tax dollars to do it, you can do anything your heart desires, and I've no quarrel with you at all.
Too many people really don't have a clue about the city. It's so much more than the French Quarter and Bourbon Street and inner city ghettos.
