9 P.M. EDT.
Are the Democrats and the LA people upset about that?
That is one reason that I hope they will build elsewhere, and offer fair market value only to property owners in the old city...and only if they rebuild in the new one.
The sharks are my biggest concern....I want the families and their home/ small business to receive the bulk of the help.....
Yes, he has appointed an Inspector General? I can't recall the exact title.
Corruption is a HUGE problem. The billions must be closely monitored.
I am zapping him, but my lightning bolts are only 20 volts...
The Mods have those 2,000,000 volt bolts that can REALLY mess someone up.
No acting lessons either!
He did indeed. .....although it wasn't a compliment.
"Schumer: The Democrats are more fiscally responsible than anyone around
Oh yea .. sure Chuckie, we believe you."
Looking at annual federal budget deficits over the past 25 years - he's right.
not publicly...which means yes :)
You bet!!
Standing by. :o)
Right now they just have whiney truth starved liberals.
O'Reilly wants to know if Bush can make a comeback!
Hey Mike:)
That sounds like a plan...hope this guy has a strong stomach and a sharp mind.
We dodged a howitzer, IMO!
FOTFLOL! I know you're not Opusing... but I want you to stay here and post your thoughts.
Oh, crumbs. Just heard big thunder. I may have to disappear.
Point well taken.
I did well to ignore the press and watch the Roberts hearings for myself, which were very different from the AP filter - that tried to make Roberts sound like a lib.
I still want to know:
1. How are we paying for the spending?
2. Who will watch the spending?
3. Can we get school choice, faith based charities, and a large enterprise zone for New Orleans instead of repeating the same old failed policies of the past.
Dodged one in '98 even though Clinton deserved being ejected. We'd definitely have gotten a reelected incumbent Gore in 2000. As they say, the Lord works in mysterious ways.
many of us agree. unfortunately, the measure of compassion for this is going to be how big the check is. they are going all out, even Mississippi is trying to shake down the private insurance industry to pay flood claims for which people are not insured. its going to be an orgy of spending. Mayor Nagin is not just going to be mayor of new orleans, he is going to stand as a Caligula like figure - the corruption is going to be rampant.
I am convinced that just over 1/2 new orleans can be brought back on line with the 50 billion already allocated - plus insurance money and private redevelopment efforts. the other 1/2 of the city, probably shouldn't be rebuilt. better to provide HUD money to the locales to which those people have moved, get some new housing built there.
nah you're crazy :)
NO, Mississippi and areas in the Gulf region are going to have more jobs than bodies.
Florida is still that way.
