9 P.M. EDT.
Central time zone is giving me fits! LOL.
It's late, when I'm stillfeeling 'early.'
Dang!
I meant to include you in my last ping.
I thought you might enjoy this post.
I'm proud of my home folks. ;o)

Just noticed your tag...is the job really at WF? I have friends who work there and say it's a great company (lots of grooming for advancement). In the People's Republic of Seattle...it's always crowded. I go there on "field trips" just to look...it's magnificent!
Reminds me of a quick story...a good friend of mine was from the Ukraine...her parents came to the US and brought little Maria here but left her older sister back because she was still in school.
The sister came to the US and went to a US supermarket and stood in the aisle and cried. We are truly blessed.
But the size of government and its growth is largely due to the need to protect ourselves from an evil enemy.
If Reagan had faced the same challenges, he would have responded very similarly. He is only perfect in hindsight.
In reality, he was a great President, as is George W. Bush.
Thanks. I'll read #1911 later this morning.
Absolutely!
I'm a minority and I never received a downpayment from the government to purchase my home. I earned my home--I earned my downpayment.
President Bush already has in place a $5 BILLION giveaway to give free money to minorities to purchase homes. I suspect what he will do here (PLEASE SAVE THIS POST TO HARD DISK AS I WILL BE PROVEN RIGHT) is he will expand that free home downpayment program.
Regarding minority businesses, minorities for decades (Like my wife's side and like my side of our family) have gone to school and have learned to be business people. We never had the government give us free money to start our own businesses. The opportunity to learn is here in the USA. The opportuity to make money is here in the USA. Many New Olrans types refused the opportunity and took the freebies instead. We are forced to help the poor now, but my real problem with the President's approach is he did not and will not ask Congress to cut back or reduce other programs to pay for this disaster. My other problem is foreign aid into the billions -- why not annnounce a total halt to foreign aid until NO is rebuilt?
Oh, good!
You're here!
You can take the night shift. ;o)
Free Republic sure has it share of nonstop complainers, I say to all of them.... Go to the Super-dome and walk a mile in the shoes of somebody who lost everything they own and only have the clothes on their back,. Until then I say the STFU
Yes it is. Now I can pay the bills :-) and in a less hostile work environment.
Not a chance.
It's late here!
excellent!
Pandering to them with money is nothing new.
We've been doing that for around 40 years now....largest peacetime transfer of wealth in history.
Rebuild NOLA smartly?...of course.
Claim we're gonna redress past discrimination again?
With my money again?
damn....I'm sick of it.
money isn't the problem with NOLA or the school systems ...another "let's throw money at it" issue
it's culture....money won't fix that
It appears you're the one that has been blinded by party loyalty. It's not a very admirable quality for anyone. You see no fault in the massive spending this president has signed off on. You see no fault in buying votes with MY tax dollars. You see no fault in allowing our porous borders to remain open. You see no fault in expanding social programs. You see no fault in CFR or "No Children Left behind".
What GWB has announced is the Great American Giveaway. More of my tax dollars thrown into a cesspool that will in all probability be destroyed again. Combine this with everything else he and the republican congress have given away and we do in fact have the GREAT RAW DEAL. It is the "responsibily" of the US government to provide help where and when it is needed, not finance the rebuilding of a city destroyed by yet more politicians. How much is it going to cost when LA is destoryed or Dallas or Houston or NYC?
Personally, I haven't seen where Bush has done much good with anything...well, he does know how to spend a buck.
Bush is nowhere close to being a conservative. He's a LDIRC (Liberal Democrat in Republican Clothes). Lets' see...what has George giving away this week?...tonights' announcement of billions to "rebuild" New Orleans and didn't he give away even more American jobs to foreign companies by announcing the elimination of tarriffs on foreign goods coming into the USA? Hey, we won't have to worry about profits to private companies from all the money that will be poured into the Gulf States...with our open border policy there will be plenty of illegals to do the work cheap.
My knowledge of politics and my participation in politics provides me with an insight you will probably never see. You see, I know how corrupt both the Democrat Party is as well as how corrupt the Republican Party is now. Neither party cares about the US, they care only of maintaining power. They don't want your voice or opinion. They want your vote and your money and then they want you to shut the hell up. GWB is no exception.
Okie dokie.
It was worth a shot. ;o)
So glad you posted. We need to put faces with the statistics. Other than the one the MSM are giving us of looter and shooters....... My step daughter too lost her home........My prayers for your family....
LOL...and you know that I rarely hand out a "BRAVO/BRAVA". Those that get them, really deserve them. :-)
Have you ever had a storm come through and take away everything you ever worked for in a 12 hour period? .....................
I wasn't discussing racial discrimination. The post of mine you originally responded to had nothing to do with racial discrimination. The post to which I directed you to read was a further elaboration of that original post.
My favorite quote:
The south never fell. Our currency simply became worthless.
I do not remember exactly where I first heard this, or I would give them credit. I only know that it was before 1966.
LOL And CNN is still talking about the people who were hungry and thirsty in the Superdome.
