Well, stay unlurked.

And thank you for the compliment and the defense.

As you can obviously see, neither Ohio or I get those very often........LOL.

I am referring to Bush's lack of a tendency to curb government spending and cut the size of government.

They're stymied because it took a Republican to admit a problem that the Democrats created. The Democrats, and affluent blacks are wholly responsible for "racial discrimination" in this country. They accomplish this discrimination by keeping back and holding down good and decent folks from a life of oppurtunity.

There are actually people on this forum who are so uneducated that they don't know that racial discrimination for decades, following centuries of slavery resulted in poverty?? Or do they not know about slavery, and have never heard of Jim Crow?

Unfortunately, I know it's true that people live their lives in total ignorance, but it still amazes me........

I need to clarify something. I forgot to add that the three decades of gubbermint 'help' probably did as much (maybe more) damage to black people as segregation, etc. did back then.

Some may even have actually lived through that era, but their hatred for President Bush and their terrible biases blind them and/or totally shut down their brains...or a reasonable facsimile thereof. And then, there are those who knows NO historical facts at all, due to lack of education and no desire to find out the facts on their own.

What is shocking, is that they feel no compunction at all, to parade their abject lack of knowledge in public.

Exactly. Hell, the Democrats didn't even want them to have the vote!

Anyone who's been keeping up with story would realize it's been corrupt Democrats in charge of Louisiana and NOLA for the last 6 decades.

I don't have the answers.

just ambivalence on this

problem is....we never get points with the Dims or MSM over diddly

after 9-11, the MSM sorta liked W's rubble heap speech

that was the highwater mark

one day....when old media truly does not set the tone...then maybe we can see some real conservatism

i like W fine and was broken glass.....twice....

but he simply spends more than I like and yes....in my view he did some race based pandering tonight which being against was a facet of being a conservative not too long ago

pandering to Coloring the News crowd just doesn't do it for me

Since it's our tax money going into taking care of what happened there, why is it wrong to question rebuilding in the same area?

Exactly!

The only thing more stupid than living below sea level on a hurricane-inflicted Gulf Coast is doing it again.

And the Republicans will gang up with the 'Rats to steal our money to ensure it is done again.

Damn Big Stupid Government.

I think isthisnickcool and you put your finger on it. Bush sees things far ahead in this project that most of us can't fathom.

It does have a certain "Architect's" fingerprints all over it.

President: "As all of us saw on television, there is also some deep, persistent poverty in this region as well. And that poverty has roots in a history of racial discrimination, which cut off generations from the opportunity of America. We have a duty to confront this poverty with bold action."

1] "persistent poverty"

2] that poverty has roots in a history of racial discrimination

WRONG, Mr. President. "THAT" poverty had its roots in LBJ's doings. Over $30 TRILLION has been spent since then. There is no connection to the New Orleans poverty of today and slavery/discrimination of over 100 years ago.

3] "We have a duty to confront this poverty with bold action"

WRONG, Mr. President. "Bold Action" is mush-mouth Marxist speak for "Another $30 TRILLION".

Anybody who takes the President's words at face value is naive. "Bold Action" means TRILLIONS more. "Bold Action" has been the mantra of Marxism since at least 1965.

My wife endured far more hardships in Nicaragua fighting for her life during the Contra/Sandinista war. She did not have Aid to dependent Children, free milk, free housing or free $2000 debit cards. The people of New Orleans live in luxury compared to what my wife endured.

When my grandparents came to the United States from Syria in 1908, the walked by foot 80 miles to reach the boat that brought them here. They were persecuted by Islamic radicals --the people of New Orleans consider "persecution" when they can't get in a third line to steal an extra $2000 debit card. My grandparents could not speak English and had ZERO pennies when they arrived in the USA. The people in New Orleans speak English (or whatever) and they get regular welfare checks.

"Bold Action"?

I know what "Bold Action" is when President Bush said that in the context of that transcript. "Bold Action" is welfare piled on top welfare.

We get them from the people who count, Howlin.

As usual, there are a few trouble makers posting repeatedly, to make it seem as though their numbers are bigger than they are...........sort of all puffed up, you know?

Where's a pin when you need one. ;)
