9 P.M. EDT.
By their logic, you're not a conservative unless you pledge your allegience to GWB and his career.
Socialism and the enlargement of the federal government is bad no matter which party does it.
If Bush were a true conservative, I'd be all for him. Sadly he is not. His only saving grace is that he is 100 times better than the two guys that he has ran against.
I can kind of vouch for this yankee. Not a rude one.
My favorite was the look on Ted Koppel's face when they quickly cut away from the interview that bombed ABC's agenda.
...great to see you back. :o)
My taxes should not be insuring "uninsurable" properties.
Yes, it is a huge risk. But the port of New Orleans is extremely important to the economy of this country. The Mississippi river is extremely important. Like it or not, people are going to have to live within 20 miles of the Gulf coastline. It's going to be interesting to see how this all shakes out.
I am curious, are you a Pat Buchanan groupie? I am not a Bush-bot, and I loved the speech. It was a subtle sledge hammer. He was sincere, and we all know or should know that he is a real Man to take the blame now to start the healing and later he will be vindicated. All of those programs mentioned and the way they will be handled will be conservative, he will see to that. Most of us do not agree 100 percent with the President, but we realize that he has to be President to all the People not just Republicans, and he has guts, courage and tenacity, and a never ending faith that keeps him going through everything they throw at him.
I was right!!!! Nightline leads off with dead bodies in the street!
Hey Girl...The Shrew posted last night....Must be old home week... How ya be?
But most of those areas besides the coasts are very sparsely populated.
And the Objectivists/Randians will NEVER get it; which is why they'll never ever get anywhere. Those who cling to Rand's books, as thought that horridly bad FICTION was in so way a template for living and governing, need to toss the books, the "philosophy", and grow up. Their UTOPIA is about as viable as as "THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO" is for how to get revenge.
That did NOT happen.
Do you also use drugs? (I've heard that people of your political persuasion often do. Is that correct?)
Howlin........why does this poor man have delusions about us?? Is he not well? This is most bizarre....
But the city is not, and you can have one without the other.
(I know.......I'm obstreporous, but you can't seem to talk about anything else).
I'm doing great. Goin' on a cruise in November on Holland America, the eastern route. I cannot wait. I haven't had a vacation since the last FR cruise in 2003.
Exactly...
TS
Your are missing the main point of the speech....By allowing people to build their own businesses, homes etc Bush will cut back on the HUD money that is currently flowing into NOLA. In the long run we'll be money ahead.
If there isn't "private" insurance available, it shouldn't be built on...I'm not an enviroweenie, but I'm a fiscal realist.
If the bank won't lend on it, it shouldn't be built.
LOL.
About a mile away from my home there is a $450,000 home for sale located right next to a river which floods every few years. It is a beautiful home and it has been up for sale for over a year. However, no one in their right mind wants to buy it because they realize how foolish it would be to buy a house that sits in the middle of a flood plane. Because the river is going to eventually rise and wash it all away! The president wants us spend hundreds of billions of dollars of our hard earned money in order to rebuild an entire city located below sea level in a flood plane! I for one do not want to and I have a feeling the overwhelming majority of Freepers do not either.
