Show me please where this kind of spending is Constitutional. Please, I'd like to know. And don't say 'promoting the general welfare'. Promoting and providing are two different things.
If the truth were known, probably 75% of non-defense Federal spending is unconstitutional.

Somebody on FNC put him in his place last week. I remember the forefinger on his chin and alot of stumbling and stuttering to think of a response.
Many years ago in the Nixon administration they tried taking some projects in Washington, DC and turning into ownership apartments. It was amazing how they turned around. Once people owned them the upkeep was noticeable. It's no joke. There IS pride in ownership.
Welfare breeds more welfare. 40 + years proves it doesn't work.
I didn't hear The President say he was going to rebuild NOLA with welfare, but, rather, incentive. I applaud anything to turn it around in this country and give people a reason to help themselves.

Jeff, this is what the Federal government is supposed to do. When something happens that is bigger than any single state can handle, the rest join together and help them out.
Herein lies our strength.
How it is bad for the Democrats is these people who have been generationally kept down by the Social Welfare programs will see the light of self-relliance and feel the pride of being self-sustaining and for the first time actually believe the American Dream can belong to them if they work hard enough.
They will have to disabuse themselves of the notion that it is the REPUBLICANS who want to keep the poor and stupid and realize this has been the bread and butter of the Democrats.
I have no idea. Why don't you give us a report when you hit the bottom?
But don't let anything like an idea get in the way of expressing your feelings when you get around to writing it, OK? You might actually start sounding like a rational conservative, and not a knee jerk emoter.....
