It seems some people are in permanent denial about the sexual conduct in question.
I think of what you say is correct and arrises out of the left wing notion of homosexuals are "born" in the same way as people are born with skin colors. The teach that sin is a behavior which is wrong however, they refuse to acknowledge that there is right and wrong sexaul behavior.
(then again Justice Ginsberg believes the age of consent should be twelve (12) per Senator Graham comenting on Ginsberg's writings.)

Actually, the problem is homosexuals. I assume that neither of you has ever spent much time around gays, but the problem is that the sexual practice is only one aspect of this. Gay men, for all their decorating skills and personal charm, bring a stunning level of bitchiness and all of the negative aspects of femininity into any situation in which they are in charge. This creates a church environment that is unbearable and kills the Gospel message.
We have to get beyond the criminal aspects, such as pedophilia, and look at the whole picture. If the majority of the clergy is straight, perhaps it would be possible to tolerate a few (celibate) effeminate men among them. But if the majority is gay and effeminate, you have created an environment that is hostile to the Church, to doctrine, to practice and to discipline. And we have had just this situation in the US for way too long.
It's happening here in Detroit but ya still have to get past some liberal nuns and goofy psycholgists who would rather hear touchy feely words than solid Catholic morality.

This is plainly false. Pedophiles lust after pre-adolescent girls and boys. The priest scandal was a homosexual problem, not a pedophilic one. The victims were usually mid- to late-adolescents, NOT young children.
The press, ever politically correct, framed the story as priestly pedophilia, hiding the fact that in most cases the problem was homosexual men in positions of authority and trust seducing young men. The press could therefore attack the Church while not offending homosexual advocates. The phrase also has alliteration making it virtually a slogan.
In Europe, where the age of consent is in many countries is 13 or 14, this wouldn't even be a crime!
This is not a problem due to pedophiles; it is a problem due to unrepentant homosexuals.
The scandal should properly be called homosexual Ephebophilia: a sexual preference or orientation in which an adult is primarily or exclusively sexually attracted to adolescents (usually people between the ages of 13 and 16).
Currently, ephebophilia is being phased out of the argot of the gay research community in favour of "Intergenerational Love," a happy-go-lucky phrase more palatable to school boards and grant reviewers.
So there were no gays in the priesthood prior to 1960?
