DoD Announces Recruiting and Retention Numbers for August
The Department of Defense announced today its recruiting and retention statistics by the active and reserve components for the month of August.
Active duty recruiting.
The Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force met or exceeded its recruiting goals in August.
Active duty retention.
All services met or exceeded their overall retention goals for August and are projected to meet their retention goals for the current fiscal year.
Reserve forces retention.
For August, Army National Guard retention was 103 percent of the cumulative goal of 29,472, and Air National Guard retention was 108 percent of its cumulative goal of 9,307. Losses in all reserve components in July were within acceptable limits. Indications are that trend continued into August. Attrition remains quite low in the Marine Corps Reserve and the Air Force Reserve.
