Psalm 3

1 O LORD, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!

2 Many are saying of me,
       "God will not deliver him."
       Selah

    3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD;
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

4 To the LORD I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.
       Selah

    5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.

6 I will not fear the tens of thousands
drawn up against me on every side.

    7 Arise, O LORD!
       Deliver me, O my God!
       Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
break the teeth of the wicked.

8 From the LORD comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.
       Selah

O Lord,

How mighty You are, All-powerful and Omniscient; and yet You are gentle and loving and merciful to those who call You Father. Even when our seas are storm-tossed, You are a Beacon of Light and Hope, guiding us through the tempests and providing a safe Harbor. We thank You for Your loving-kindness and for the forgiveness that You have given as a gift to those who know Your Son, Who paid for our sins with His precious Blood. Praise Your holy Name!

Lord, we are constantly amazed at the number and the viciousness of the foes of George W. Bush. Yet even as he is beset on all sides by those who wish to harm him physically, politically, or spiritually, he maintains an attitude of peace and calm that can come only from You. We humbly thank You, O Lord, for Your caring watch over Your servant. Continue to sustain him and help him to remain true to Your Word and Your commandments. Let the darts that are thrown at him fall helplessly to the ground. Fill him with strength, courage, wisdom, persistance, and discernment.

We pray also for his beloved Laura who must be anguished at the things that are said about her husband. Let their marriage grow ever stronger as they grow closer to You each day. Be a Shield of protection for all their family and keep them safe.

Be with the people of Iraq who have seen yet more bloodshed inflicted by the enemies of freedom. Help them to strive onward toward establishing a new government that truly allows for liberty for all.

Our military are constantly in our prayers as they carry out difficult tasks both abroad and at home. We lift them up to You, O Lord, asking that You abide with them and with their families, making Your presence known to them. Encourage them in the face of the lies and distortions and untruths told by the media about the extraordinary ways that they are carrying out their duties.

Even as our nation is still reeling from the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina, yet another storm is battering another part of our coast. Calm the storms within the hearts of those enduring Hurricane Ophelia even as the wind and waves rage outside. We thank You for the goodness of those in America who have reached out in mercy to those who have suffered such tremendous losses from the storms and who have strived to feed the least of these Your children for Your Name's sake.

In contrast to the acts of bravery and benevolence in these last weeks that we have witnessed, we have also seen the darker side of some of our citizens. Lord, we need You! We need revival in our land! Send Your Holy Spirit to speak to the hearts of those who live in darkness and sin and seek only to cause dissension and division. Open the eyes of those who are blind to Your glory. Forgive our nation and bless us, Father, showing us Your most excellent Way. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

From the LORD comes deliverance.

Praise God Who understands the thoughts and intents of every heart. I am confident that He is pleased with His servant, George W. Bush, and that He will deliver him from every fiery dart that is thrown toward him. Thank you for leading us tonight, kayak.

Yes, Father, in agreement with Kayak, we ask and receive Your Holy Spirit to convict, enlighten and draw us, motivated by Your great love into the fullness that You provided through Jesus. Teach Your people to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit and give us boldness to walk through the open doors of utterance You provide.

Great are You, Lord, and greatly to be praised. In the midst of this congregation, we praise You for Your greatness, Your might, Your power, Your saving grace, Your right hand of deliverance. We praise You for our President and all those righteous leaders You have given us. Keep them in the shelter of Your wings. We believe Your word which says that You have delivered them out of the dominion of darkness. We call them delivered and rejoice in You!

Thank You, Father, for the compassion, skill, provision and kindness Your body has shown to the victims of Katrina. To You be all the glory.

In Jesus' name, we gather and pray. Amen.

It was President Harry Truman who said the only thing new under the political sun is the history you don't know.

It is hard for us to believe, but in the 1930s most of the press was very Republican even though most Americans were Democrats. It was the mirror image of todays media and politics.

Back then there was no TV and Radio had major commentators such as H.V. Kaltenborn who were rock ribbed Republicans. Those right wing commentators hosted the most listened to news programs on the air. Those old time radio commentators were quite biased, but they were biased to the right.

Magazines were very important and Time Magazine was the most successful. Time was published by Henry Luce. Luce hated FDR at least as much as the New York times hates President Bush and the pages of Time reflected Luce's views.

Yet without the INTERNET and with a constantly hostile media FDR was elected to the presidency 4 times. I studied that era a lot. And there are many parallels with today's media. I think then as now the media went too far. They did not understand the affection with which the voting public held FDR. They do not understand the affections with which most of the public holds Dubya.

The media, especially since the Nixon resignation has believed it can take a Republican president down. They don't understand what it takes to take down a George W. Bush or a Ronald Reagan. When their attacks failed to hurt Reagan they called him the Teflon president.

What we can show is what the MSM is doing is counter productive to THEIR cause. The media fails to consider the one important factor that allowed them to get Nixon. Nixon was a not a likable man. I could not imagine a group of men planning getting together to watch football, and then reminding each other to be sure to invite Dick Nixon. Yet I could easily see a group of guys including George W. Bush in every guy thing that came along. Men like and respect George W. Bush. They did not like or respect Dick Nixon.

I can't imagine when Richard Nixon was young and single a group of gals being envious of a friend that was dating Nixon. Uhhgggg. "What does she see in him?" would be their response. I can imagine young ladies being envious of a friend that was dating a young and single George W. Bush.

The same was true of Roosevelt. Both men and women liked FDR. Even those that disagreed with FDR liked him.

Let me ask you a question. What is your reaction if I trash someone you don't like? Correct. The tendency is to agree with me.. to say... "Right ON!"

Now what is your reaction if I trash Some one you do like? Correct! The tendency is to defend the person you like. In fact trashing your friend will cause you to dislike the accuser and to be even more committed to your friend.

Thus when the media attacks Bush, as they do morning noon and night, they just cause people that like him to defend him. It causes people who like President Bush, to defend him and dislike the media. There are a lot more people who like Dubya than there are that dislike him.

The technique to take down a popular public figure is to point out short comings and then make excuses for the public figure. The reaction over time is for the listener not to excuse him even though the reporter continues to excuse him. When a reporter spins news to offer negative coverage of a public figure while defending that public figure, that reporter tends to be believed. It is quite true that if a reporter points out bad things about X and then defends X, the listener draws the conclusion that the reporter is for X and therefore the bad things reported about X must be totally true. Over time the listener will turn on the person being accused and defended.

The best thing about our main stream media is they really don't know how to take down a popular president.

They tried it with Reagan using Iran Contra... It did not play well. They have tried many attacks on President Bush and none have yet stuck pay dirt.

The media gurus think that we will react as they do. They applaud when someone attacks President Bush. They think you and I will applaud as well. But that is not the case. Since we like him we defend him.

It is a very good thing that the media only tells us what THEY want to hear... not what it takes to persuade us to adopt their views. The MSM has never figured out what it takes to defeat a popular president.

That is a very good thing for our side.

I would urge us all to keep the faith. Karl Rove is an expert on how ordinary citizens react to MSM and Democratic attacks. He knows how we will react to Democratic ploys. Bush and Rove both know when to hold em and when to up the anti.

The coming months are going to be interesting to watch. Bush and Rove often let media types dig their own grave before taking action. Look for the presidents numbers to go up and the medias numbers to go down.

Thank you for posting this. The reason they are so vicious against GW is because he exhibits the spirit of the Lord - George is strong and yet tenderhearted.

I pray Heavenly Father that you will act quickly to lift your servant George W. Bush in the world's eyes and esteem. We love you - as we know that George and Laura Bush do - and we ask that because they have acted humbly - you will lift them up. For you bring down the haughty and exult the humble.

Let the lies of his opponents be revealed and let them fall into their own trap. Father - we pray for their salvation - that what they meant for evil - you will turn to good. In Jesus' precious name we pray.

AMEN KAYAK AND AMEN ALL!

"I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I
said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest
the iniquity of my sin."
- Psalm 32:5

David's grief for sin was bitter. Its effects were visible upon his
outward frame: "his bones waxed old"; "his moisture was turned into the
drought of summer." No remedy could he find, until he made a full
confession before the throne of the heavenly grace. He tells us that for a
time he kept silence, and his heart became more and more filled with
grief: like a mountain tarn whose outlet is blocked up, his soul was
swollen with torrents of sorrow. He fashioned excuses; he endeavoured to
divert his thoughts, but it was all to no purpose; like a festering sore
his anguish gathered, and as he would not use the lancet of confession,
his spirit was full of torment, and knew no rest. At last it came to this,
that he must return unto his God in humble penitence, or die outright; so
he hastened to the mercy-seat, and there unrolled the volume of his
iniquities before the all-seeing One, acknowledging all the evil of his
ways in language such as you read in the fifty-first and other penitential
Psalms. Having done this, a work so simple and yet so difficult to pride,
he received at once the token of divine forgiveness; the bones which had
been broken were made to rejoice, and he came forth from his closet to
sing the blessedness of the man whose transgression is forgiven. See the
value of a grace-wrought confession of sin! It is to be prized above all
price, for in every case where there is a genuine, gracious confession,
mercy is freely given, not because the repentance and confession deserve
mercy, but for Christ's sake.
Blessed be God, there is always healing for the broken heart; the
fountain is ever flowing to cleanse us from our sins.
Truly, O Lord, thou art a God "ready to pardon!" Therefore will we
acknowledge our iniquities.

"The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty;
the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he
hath girded himself: the world also is stablished,
that it cannot be moved.

Thy throne is established of old:
thou art from everlasting.

Psalm 93:1,2 KJV"

May the strength of the Lord pass on to our President, and continue to guide him on the right path he has chosen, for

"God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him...I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)"
